No, but went to Barbados for a week, which was really a bit short to travel all that distance for.

Longest non-working holiday you've ever taken?

Six weeks after resigning from a job that sucked the life out of me and taking another that is quite pleasant. It was summer and thus most enjoyable.

Worst person you've ever worked with?

A girl who used to refer to me in the third person even when I was sitting beside her. Tried really hard to get over it, invited her round for tea etc, but it never worked, gave up. Also working with someone at the mo that I had a massive fall out with a couple of months ago - I'm still not over it.

    You?

Currently the colleague I just don't trust. Looks at you and smiles while unsheathing the knife that you're about to feel between your shoulderblades. I try to minimize contact while smiling and appearing polite and unaware of ulterior motives.

Do you ever find yourself perseverating about things like that that really bother you _ and if you do, how do you put it behind you and stop obsessing?

Do other things to distract myself, keep busy, and it usually gently floats away.

Not if you spend too long on your computer before hand.

Do you think this coilition government will last the 5 years?
  • ClaireackClaireack Posts: 13,561
Hard to say, think lib/dems will get pushed out more and more, so they might call for an early election.

No But they are introducing a fixed parlimentary term of 5 years so we cant have another election before then (in theory).

"The Brief, Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao" by Junot Diaz. AMAZING. But you have to stick with it, some parts are a tough go...

Five or six bookcases, and planks with books on them in the attic.

Your favorite book of all time?

Like my favorite PJ song, seems to change from mood to mood. Right now, would have to say "Oscar Wao" but I think that's because I just read it and was blown away. Not sure if it will stand the test of time.

Favorite movie made from a book you liked, in which you weren't disappointed?

I don't know about movies, but I have liked several of the Sherlock Holmes tv series on PBS. They seemed very true to the stories. :P
