Yes, lol, I remember sneezing at PetSmart yesterday. We lucked out and the cat cages were open. Felines everywhere!!

Will you be traveling out of town for Turkey Day?
  • hedonisthedonist Posts: 24,524
(that sounds like a dream come true - not the sneezing, but cats all over!)

Nope for traveling, and happy about that. It'll be just my sweetie and me (and our two cats).

Does cooking for two sometimes seem like you're cooking for ten?

I only ever cook for one but yes, it often seems like I'm cooking for a full table. The same number of prep utensils and pots & pans get used. The same space is occupied. The same mess is left behind. The only things you don't waste are the additional plates and forks.

When is the last time you ordered Chinese takeout?
  • RogueStonerRogueStoner Sunny AZ Posts: 1,716
It's been a while. June, I think. AZ does not have very good Chinese food. Or any other kind of food other than Mexican.

What do you do more often... cook or eat out?
  • hedonisthedonist Posts: 24,524
I think we all know my answer to that

Do some Chinese restaurants have hilarious names?

Our go-to when I was a kid was Man Fuk Lo.

And btw, you realize now I am totally going to have to Google funny Chinese restaurant names. Those ^^^ are great. ;)

Do you have a 4 day weekend?
  • deadendpdeadendp Northeast Ohio Posts: 10,434
    I do, but I always do. I work M-W.

Do you get paid for the upcoming winter holidays? (I do not. They do not fall on days that I am regularly scheduled to work.)

    I don't get paid holidays.

Have you ever celebrated Christmas while staying in a hotel (or resort), and if so, did you like that?

Do you ever feel the need for a major change in your life?
  • hedonisthedonist Posts: 24,524
I have, but usually life makes that choice for me.

    Damn you, life

I'd be remiss to not bless it as well.

To paraphrase The Who, got a feeling '17 is gonna be a good year?

    (I sure hope so)

Yessss, it's definitely gonna be Hedo!! Positive vibes to you my friend. Life does decide for us sometimes, but we can still try our f'n damndest to put up a fight.

Do you ever feel like your fight needs to be refueled?
  • hedonisthedonist Posts: 24,524
Oh hell, yes. The tank needs refilling and that is so not a euphemism.

Energy from others, from friends, is beyond appreciated and healing, but I feel like the bulk of it needs to come from within. I feel guilt otherwise.

When was the last time you gave yourself a mental kick in the ass, whether or not accompanied by a couple or three tears?
  • hauntingfamiliarhauntingfamiliar Wilmington, NC Posts: 10,217
Tonight. Nuff said. It's been rough.

How do you get the energy to refuel?
  • hedonisthedonist Posts: 24,524
You got me - trying to figure it out at the moment.

I hope it gets better for you. For all of us working our way there, to the light, to our light.

(no question here, just sending good energy...maybe sometimes that's all we can do?)
  • hauntingfamiliarhauntingfamiliar Wilmington, NC Posts: 10,217
Thanks. You too. Energy received, appreciated and sent your way and forward.

What was the last thing you bought?
  • oftenreadingoftenreading Victoria, BC Posts: 12,845
    Groceries, yesterday, if that counts.

Are you organized enough to do your grocery shopping once a week, or do you pop into the store repeatedly throughout the week to pick up what you forgot or didn't plan for?

Oh no - not a matter of organization but that our fridge (soon to be replaced!) can't handle food for more than a couple of days.

OK, fine. Somewhat disorganized, but I typically pick up various stuff at the market when buying lunch. It's easier on my back too.

    Active shooter at OSU?

    Active shooter at OSU?

    From USA TODAY

Eleven hurt, suspect killed in 'terrifying' Ohio State attack

An Ohio State student crashed his vehicle into pedestrians on the Columbus campus Monday, then slashed students with a butcher knife before being fatally shot by a university police officer, authorities said.Eleven people were rushed to hospitals and one was in critical condition, according to university Police Chief Craig Stone. The drama began shortly before 10 a.m. ET, when the suspect deliberately drove over a curb and began his attack, Stone said. He said the officer arrived about a minute later and engaged the suspect."We are very fortunate that an OSUPD officer was there and took quick action," Stone said.Monica Moll, the university's public safety director, identified the assailant as Abdul Razak Ali Artan, a student at the school. Multiple media outlets including NBC News and the Associated Press, citing sources who requested anonymity, described him as an native of Somalia living in the United States as a legal permanent resident. The Associated Press reported he is 20 years old.

Ugh. Just such awfulness - understatement, I know - for a bunch of innocents, and for those who care for them.

Is my lovely Ohioan chica doing alright this evening?

    I hope so.
