I was under the impression that you thought Dave and Stephanie are complete angels and were prepared to defend them and their impeccable reputation to death ...Yes, the extortionist is creepy, but I think they all are to a certain extend...the majority of politicians/celebrities/people in power positions are shady..it goes with the territory...my wife used to work as a journalist, and now is in media relations..she tells me stories of these people that are revered as good clean American heroes, but are actually the complete opposite....bottom line, don't trust them, not even Dave ..

But the thing is, I watch Letterman on a fairly regular basis. It was made out that this guy out of nowhere did this criminal act, which I guess is not the truth.
Why did you ever think this came out of nowhere? Obviously there was build up to it and there was enough dirt on Dave for this scum bag to try and extort money from Dave. None of that really changes anything to the fact that it is the extortionist on trial, again, not Dave. Dave was merely a wittiness to a felony.
Like they were just saying on CNN; they were interviewing a legal expert and they said if they were defending the extortionist, they would cross examine Dave on every woman he has slept with on the show, and every dirty secret he has. And Wolf Blitzer came back with, why would the judge allow that line of questioning when it has nothing to do with this trial of extortion? This extortion case is what is on trial, not Dave and his sex life. That would have to be brought up by a staffer who feels mistreated on the show. And to date, that has not happened.

I understand that in a perfect world, that love affair would have never happened the way it did. But, they are human, and made what some would call a mistake. Not a felony mistake, but a moral mistake.
