I though last night's show was awesome! He didn't hesitate at all to make fun of himself in his own monologue. Loved when he tried to do latest news stories and started off with Bill Clinton....errr no, Bernie Madoff..errr no, Gov. Sanford...errr no. His self-deprecating humor is the best!! When he said that even the navigation lady in his car wasn't speaking to him....funny!

Obviously I'm not as well-versed in this particular matter as you....I really don't give a fuck one way or the other, and will continue to enjoy David Letterman's program..just wanted to point out that I don't think Dave and Stephanie are complete angels....the fact is, that we don't know exactly what occurred, nor should we..Dave is in an extremely powerful position and who knows how that played into the sexual relationship with interns/staff members....I don't think it's all kosher, for obvious reasons..though you can't blame him..

From what I have read, it wasn't a short term porking session, but an actual relationship between Dave and Stephanie.
Again, Dave is not the story. Dave Letterman is not on trial here. The scum bag who tried to extort money is the one on trial. "Oooo, Dave had sex. Teehee." Big deal. Again, he wasn't married. According to her diary, "Late Show" staffer Stephanie Birkitt was still having sex with her boss when she was living with her CBS-producer boyfriend Joe Halderman.
This is sourced to the New York Post, which reports she left her Joe home in Connecticut when she and Letterman went on hikes last fall at his eastern Montana ranch.
But she continued to tell Joe that she and Letterman had a platonic relationship and she was his "best friend."
Halderman exploded when he read Birkitt's diary in December, the Post's sources said.
We have a feeling there will be even more sordid details to emerge.

Champ, you've got me all wrong. I just went back and forth with you because you kept saying things that were not true as the story has been told.
I couldn't agree more that there is a attractive young woman, and it is weird that she is dating old gray hared men. That said, I hope that when I am old and gray, that i am still pulling young hot babes. But none of that is neither here nor there, not does it have anything to do with this story.
Like they were just saying on CNN; they were interviewing a legal expert and they said if they were defending the extortionist, they would cross examine Dave on every woman he has slept with on the show, and every dirty secret he has. And Wolf Blitzer came back with, why would the judge allow that line of questioning when it has nothing to do with this trial of extortion? This extortion case is what is on trial, not Dave and his sex life. That would have to be brought up by a staffer who feels mistreated on the show. And to date, that has not happened.
