Perfect Partner Icing on the Cake

A person may not be perfect, but as a partner a person could be perfect [yes/no?]. I was listening to PJ last night, and I realized the following in a boyfriend would definitely add to his attractiveness. Of course these are not the most important attributes I wish for like is he loving, caring, blah blah blah, but they definitely are the icing on the cake:

1. Must love Pearl Jam
2. Have a dog or be like me and wish he had a dog

And you? What is/has been the icing on the cake?

I more so have a list of things I avoid in a mate.

But icing on the cake for me... nice legs and a healthy sense of experimental perversion.

the part i bolded made me laugh.

tis the 'blah, blah, blah' parts that are actually the meat of a relationship. :P as to your Q, i personally do not find a love of pj a necessity, at all - tho a love of music, yes (and yes....cannot be music i abhor). granted, mr. dream IS a fan, turned me onto the band in fact, tho i am far more the passionate fan than he nowadays. that said, the most important thing to me is having RESPECT for each others passions and interests. i also need someone who truly trusts me, allows me a LOT of freedom and yet, that we are still close and spend a good deal of our time together. MUST LOVE DOGS, well, that's simply a given. must also be open to new experiences, travel, music, film, food and wine!....just have that joie de vivre....(i think that's how it's spelled, anyhow  ) and as per usual, i rambled....mea culpa.....

if i *must* define some icing ;)....

    1. be a great cook!
    2. be a sexy-ass, talented bass player. 8-)

both, definitely icing....didn't know i *had* to have it, until i got it.

    cool question ms. haiku!

I'm not sure really, do wish my husband would put his stuff away and not leave WD40 and engine lubricant in the kitchen. Not really keen on men in suits or shiny shoes - that would be a no no.

Gosh I'll have to think about this ....

..... Gotta have a healthy sense of experimental perversion ............. but the icing smeared over him. ;) :P

I'm going to go with necessity.

I always thought I would want someone with a love of Pearl Jam but I'm with someone now that had a cursory knowledge of Pearl Jam and is always open to listening to it. Even bought me the new album. He is a KEEPER!!!

Yep, icing on the cake attributes are the dessert, and not the entre; the apple pie, and not the pizza pie; the espresso, and not the spaghetti. . .

    2. Let's me set the temp in our bedroom (a big deal! as I need a morgue setting to sleep)

  • I love how absolutely VERBAL my husband is. I am a big talker, too, so it's awesome to be with someone who is always up for conversation. We've known each other about 7 years now, and we still haven't run out of things to talk about yet! :D Even his inconsequential emails and texts are really long. I love it.

I guess this would qualify, because it wasn't something I had ever specifically pinpointed as a quality I desired. I knew it would be important to always have a lot to talk about, but I never thought about how important it would be to be with someone who is willing and able to match me in this way.

    8-)

Guess I should have made that clearer ;) I'm sure that would be easy enough to find if I was in the market for men, but a little harder to come by in a woman!

No love for guys in suits around here eh? I guess it's different strokes for different folks... I mainly went to law school because the girl I was with at the time said guys in power suits were hot

Suits are good! I don't often get to see my husband in one. Actually, the only time I've seen him in one was on our wedding day. But he looked great! :D

personally, i love a man who can rock a suit ANd rock a leather jacket/jeans. it's a very sexy thing that one man can pull both off. and hey, as to what you 'have' to wear to work, whether a cop or a lawyer, we all wear 'uniforms'.....so i could not give a shit about that. but sure, on your own time....more comfortable with a guy in jeans and leather, but the occasional suit is nice. hell, i got hubby to buy a corduroy blazer for the first time for 'casual wear'...with jeans, he's usually FAR more casual/sporty in his attire, and yes....he looks hot in it and i like it. but you bet, i still love him in his leather jacket too. 8-) so sure, some of us like....both. :geek:

Well who doesn't want it all? ;) I'm far from able to rock both... I've never owned or even put on a leather jacket in my life, hehe.

I definitely dig the Clark Kent look. Glasses are definitely icing on the cake. D2D I agree with the cooking. There's something about cooking that just makes a man's wrists sexy. Oh la!

I was telling my twin about this, and she has been married 17 years. She said that her husband's sense of humor is the icing on the cake. She likes to hear him talk because of the goofy things he might say. Her word not mine.

Fortunately have a more than adequate sufficiency in the bedroom at the mo ..... give it time though not too long 'til I hit the menopause!! ;)

Thought about it some more ....

Humour - definately, I guess I took that for granted, but it's definetely a bonus, actually no, I think it would have to be a part of the main course.

    You know I really have absolutely no idea, um, be supportive about what I want to do, no that's a main. Hubby bought me a book that he thought I'd like to read the other week. That was really lovely of him as he's not a pressie kind of guy. Oh that could be one;

Surprising me - by actions, thoughts or the odd little gift. It's good to be kept on your toes.

Well that's all I can think of for now.
personally, i love a man who can rock a suit ANd rock a leather jacket/jeans.

My hubby always looks uncomfortable in a suit, and it's always at weddings and funerals, so maybe he's uncomfortable with being at them too. Leather jacket? He only wears it when he's on his bike, along with his leather trousers.

    Oh I've thought of another one;

Filtrum - I think that's what its called its the dip under the nose that runs to the top of your lips. A do think it's a bonus to have a nice one of those, my hubby has a little scar in his that is just so cute.

There, I think I've finished now.

as i said, definitely icing. i don't cook, but i never really thought about it much. then again, i knew my husband was an excellent cook before i married him, and he knew i barely boiled water :D....but i have definitely realized what amazing, and sexy, icing a good cook is!

and yes....he can rock the leather jacket or the suit. 8-) he's undoubtably more comfortable in the leather jacket, tho he is quite pleased with the compliments when he does wear a suit, that he indeed becomes instantly comfortable. however, the jeans/t/leather is far more *him* and always will be. besides, it goes with his bass far better i imagine.... :ugeek:

btw - funny, i too am married 17 years....and i have to agree, the goofy shit is the best. funny when you are not trying to be, is all bonus!
