There is no way at all that there is a Red Sox logo on pearljam.com. Nope no way at all. They don't even have anything in common. One is totally awesome whereas the other one just sucks.
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
Butthead: Huh huh.

Sure. Everyone has their faults. 60% of Red Sox nation did not exist until they started playing well. Red Sox fans were nothing but pessimists and deserved their 80+ years of futility. Unfortunately, the members of Pearl Jam (probably because of Epstein and Gammons) jumped on the bandwagon (it is obvious because georgraphically they should not be Red Sox fans).
60 % of Red Sox nation only exists because of the Yankees. If the hatred for the Yankees did not exist, neither would the casual baseball fan's support of the Red Sox. The Red Sox owners should be thankful for the Yankees. All they have to do is spend 80% of what the Yankees spend and they will get a pass from the hypocrite Yankee haters.
The auction is for a good cause though.
i guess i'd say this too if i was a yankees fan.
in the words of artie lange-wah, the red sox are the best team and i wish the yankees were, wah.
try getting that plague called arod out of town and maybe they'll go back to greatness.probably not though.
and kudos to the best auction ever!!!!!!!
I don't see the Yankee insignia
My roommate is from Boston and a Sox fan, we were born in 1988, he has NEVER been a suffering Sox fan.
Why do you post on a Pearl Jam website if you think Pearl Jam sucks?
wait, I thought everyone was saying we (Sox fans) were now TOO arrogant ... which one is it?
Nothing like comparing a whole group of fans based on your one roomate.
I just wish this EEI thing wasn't at 3 am Pacific time .... ooof ... i'll probably catch the last hour or so while getting ready for work ...
And indeed, I've been pimping it since I've joined the Pit ...
Pearl Jam - Fenway Park - 2008
... it's going to happen!

The Red Sox are the new Yankees.. Really, the league would be much more interesting if they got rid of the Red Sox and Yankees. Nobody else really cares about these teams except a few million confined northeasterners and a new england based ESPN... yet the rest of the country has to be force feed their shit.
All aside, congrats to Theo for the good cause.
The problem is that they are both, when they win they are arrogant and talk about how great they are and when they lose they cry "oh, big surprise, we never catch a break"
wait, what?
rest of teh country is force fed? No one force feeds Sox fans and makes them the #1 draw at *away* ballparks ... we're not made to buy our tickets at gun point (although, not too far of a stretch when I head to Oakland) ... Same with the Yankess, as, I'm assuming the Yanks are #2 for an away draw ...
As for the Sox and PJ ... c'mon, you all know Theo hangs out with PJ, you've seent he youtube video of PJ playing baseball at fenway ...
I'll post this, again ...
Ed, Theo and Bill Janovitz (Buffalo Tom) jammin' back in '06 ...

If this friendship can help a good cause .... good deal ...

Who is this "they" that says we haven't caught a break in the past 4 years? you HAVE to to win the WS ... we've caught TONS of breaks.
Good teams make breaks and make the most of them ... but, breaks are there, plenty of them.
Who's not admitting it, I'll school them.

Oh, and we also won the World Series - so that makes us better!
Here is Theo jammin with PJ last year at the Garden: http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2158310530091370947vxJNsV
The Sox have 1 road attendance and the Cubs are number two. This is mostly credited to the fact that they have the two smallest ballparks so fans have to buy road tickets to see the games.
Read it and weep my friend. Jealousy sucks and so does A-Fraud (good luck with that!).
Now stop crying like a little girl...
Secondly, anyone who thinks that A-Rod is a "plague" or call him "A-Fraud", can go back to the hole they crawled out of in 2004. A-Rod has been nothing but a stand-up gentleman since he came into baseball. Any team would have loved to have him, sure he's expensive, but he's worth it.. don't feed me crap about no rings either, it takes more than 1 guy to win a WS. The reason for the negaitive A-Rod press is because of his Agent Scott Boras, who also represents a number of Red Sox players.
Oh, and why 2004? Because like someone said, 60% of "Red Sox Nation" didn't even exist until 2004. From the 1900's until 2004 the fans in Boston considered the team gods gift to losers. Since 2004 the Red Sox have become the nations #1 bandwagon team. It's bigger sob story than if Dorothy never found her way home from Oz (at least not for 86 years).
And before I end this tirade, I will mention this passed MLB season. Sure the Red Sox won the WS. Nice, congratulations to the players. Remember though, Colorado had 8 days off, that's like trying to come out of a coma to a baseball player. Finally, also remember that the Yankees were 17 1/2 games back around the mid-season mark, and only ended up losing the division by 2 games. This was done with the most ever rookie starters for one team during a season.
And I quote 86 years of Red Sox grief.. "See you next year".
Peace.
First, keep the logo up. It looks great and PJ and the Sox go together like Vanilla Ice Cream and Apple Pie.
Second, A-Fraud a "Stand Up Gentlemen"????????????????????????????????? Are we talking about the same guy who:
-Cheated on his wife
-Slapped the ball out of the pitchers glove in the 2004 ALCS
-Yelled while rounding the bases at a player trying to field a pop up
-Going after a pitcher half his size and then getting his but kicked by Jason Varitek
-Said in Sports Illustrated that his team-mates are jealous of him because he is rich and good-looking
-Announcing during the last game of the World Series that he was becoming a free agent
And that's just the stuff since he joined the Yankees. A-Fraud probably will end up getting a ring in spite of himself, but it always is and always will be all about A-Rod.
Third, the Sox have always been the #1 draw for fans in Boston (even with the Patriots and Celtics success), so don't give me that crap about 2004 and 60% of the fans jumping on the band-wagon.
Last but not least, congrats on closing the gap and ALMOST winning the division. Lovely parting gift for that one.
That being said, baseball would never be this fun without the rivalry with Yankees! Peace back...
And for the record, I don't mind charity work done between Theo and the Jam, but I don' want Pearl Jam to be associated with the Red Sox as far as even playing at Fenway.
Congrats on toughing it out, and battling all the way back to 2nd place. Good job.
you know why the rockies had 8 days off.because the national league sucks!!!the colorado rockies swept two teams people.that's how bad the league is.and that's why they lost.jv and varsity.
of course the 8 days off was nothing compared to the 4 months off the yankees got.
What a game ender!
Seconded. Go Cards.

A-Rod got photographed going up to his hotel room with a stripper(who
wasn't his wife), who he picked up at the club she was hustling, earlier this season. His wife has 250 million reasons to look
the other way, though. Way to go big guy. Remember Alex, Herpes is forever. Use the infield fly rule and make sure she
waves you home before you slide in there. Also, strippers don't have change for a million, so bring smaller bills. Alex, you
deserve your face on a piece of currency. It would have to be really valuable in the summer, and then lose all of it's
value for the month of October, though. But the currency is really good looking, so no one will really notice.
Seattle has decent strippers too Alex, you didn't have to leave.
Any takers he's going to be on the list of players who have
tested positive for banned substances?
And the phrase is "Wait 'till next year" Yankee "fan"

Whatever.
I highly doubt he will ever test positive for banned substances. He's been the same size since before his rookie season. Unlike Barry Bonds who came in looking like Gilligan and left looking like he ate the Skipper. See Jose Canseco, Mark Maguire, and many others. Come to think of it.. I hardly ever remember David Ortiz being a "big guy" in Minnesota. Same goes for Manny. Of course, that's just Manny being Manny.
Fin.
EDIT: Thank you for taking down that picture.
