I had CBC Newsworld on mute when I looked at this thread, and looked up at the tv and that was headline, I guess a firm with private investors, ie-people with lots of money pooling it together, is buying the J. Crew company and removing its public stock from the market, so investors won't be able to buy J. Crew stock anymore, thus this private equity group controls J. Crew, only time will tell what they plan to do with it....

when we got a couple inches of wet snow on friday it turned everything into a skating rink when it froze solid that evening. it's not supposed to get warm enough to melt any until late on thursday...startin to look like turkey day might have to wait for another day or year :(

last night was harsh, down to 16 degrees but the freakin winds.. gusts to 60+ mph made the wind chill factor go below 0...got some gusts that made the entire building shake. it was startling when the lights flickered but i'm so grateful things stayed on...alot of peeps weren't as lucky

it was very weird to not only need extra blankets but to have to dress in layers just to sleep under 'em

my gas fireplace couldn't keep up...the baseboard heat in the bedroom made it a lil better...but still too cold...so i went to turn on the baseboard heat in the living & dining room to & found out they don't work (1st time i've ever tried turning them on)

suppost to be even colder tonight a whoppin 8 degrees... @ least the winds died down. no biggie except this is temperate western wa & things here aren't built for this sorta stuff

    how old are the girls
and how far from BC are you now?
i had to move my family twice
and they adapted well...and there wasn't even internet back then
with all the ways to keep in touch with friends these days
    depending on their ages
and if they've got boyfriends yet, etc.
    they'll probably adapt just fine
    good luck to you
    and how will YOU adapt?
    consider that as well :)
