thank you Pearl Jam forum and ten club for being some much needed therapy for me these last few years or so.

I am going to try and go for a whole week without posting/logging onto this website. I'm taking some baby steps here. first a week, then 2 weeks, then, 3....slowly transitioning myself back into reality. I've been neglecting some things, but will still come here a couple times a month I think. that's the plan, I guess. I've got to spend less time on the computer and more time living and getting debt paid off. but I still hope to go to a concert here and there along the way.

    peace & love

Wow...just wow. How does your brain work? Or does it?
  • Knowing I need to mow my yard before it rains later today. It is 89 right now with a "real feel" temp of 95 and it's only going to get warmer in the next few hours. Guess I better get moving... I mean mowing

Thanks. After having a stroke in January... I think I'm going to go for the water instead. Need to keep those blood vessels happy and hydrated.

How 'bout a toast: "Here's to safe mowing, and hopes for no bursting blood vessels!" All in favor, say "I" ;)

I'll post back later if I lived through it

Is there any way to access my PMs through the PJ iPod app? All I'm getting through safari is a white screen. They're there... But I can't read them :(

  • I survived mowing. I had several thoughts while I was out there... I wonder how many mental roller coasters we go in any given day... oh the fear of keeping track to see what that would look like :?

This was my roller coaster of thought while mowing.

[I'm okay but intimidated by the heat]
    Wow. It's humid.
Gotta love humid summers in the Midwest

[Optimistic I can do this and feeling generally okay]
The grass is tall - better raise the mower deck
The sun is so bright. I love the sun.
I left my sunglasses in the house but I best not stop for it
I love a fresh cut lawn
I love using a mower that is not self-propelled
I wish I had a bigger lawn and more trees
I used to have 9x the lawn I have now (no exaggeration)
I forgot to grab my iPod before I started but I best not stop for it

    [Negative thoughts arrive]
How does grass grow 6 inches in a week? (I didn't measure but it is clearly 6 inches)
I used to have a lot of trees to provide shade
The abundance of rain has sure made this grass grow tall
The humidity is sure keeping the grass wet making it harder to mow
Between the wet grass and my blood vessels.. mowing slowly has a new meaning
As a kid and mowing, somebody would come out of the house 'bout now with an iced tea
    No one is here.
If I were married, we could take turns mowing on days like this.. or he could bring me some water
Okay. Starting to get light headed.
    Better stop for water.

    [Rebounding from negativity]
No cold water in the fridge. Warm bottled water is okay though...
Only half of the yard left.

    [Negativity creeps back in]
Self-propelled mower would have been faster
Sure miss those shade trees I used to have
It's still bright - I left my sunglasses in the house again
I forgot to grab my iPod before I started again
Gonna have to do this again in a few days with a lower deck

    [Rebounding from negativity]
Wow. Done. What a work out that was.
I love using a mower that is not self-propelled
I love a fresh cut lawn
If I want a bigger yard and more trees - I need to stop reminiscing about the past and make it happen

    [Negativity creeps back in]
Dang. I sure wish I had air conditioning that worked.

    [Rebounding from negativity]
But hey... I survived and I'm still alive ;)
