Key Arena security question

Both nights at the Key I was wearing my yellow Neil Young & Crazy Horse cap. Both nights they made me doff my cap as I was entering the building. I thought this was typically done to deter audience tapers from hiding equipment under their cap. As Pearl Jam allows audio taping by the audience, I found this strange. Anyone have other ideas on why they would have asked people to do this?

I wore a hat on night two ... was never asked to remove it nor had it checked.

I wore a visor both nights, had big pockets, and was never asked to be searched.

  • Um, it's Washington... They won't let you take beer into the arena when the lights are off, but they would let you with the lights on when the Sonics played. So why would they let you wear a cap through the entrance? Yeah, lame

My friend was going to see Eddie last night. Since he was in Vegas, I gave him 5 Grand to gamble with. I told him I wanted it all to go on Black. Bastard! PhillyCrownOfThorns-11-2-12

Security was weird, one dude absolutely refused to let me bring in my poster tube from the night before that i bought at the arena, kept telling me it was the policy and noone would let me in. Walked around the corner to the next entrance and walked right in.

It was very lax--neither me nor my husband were patted down
So I'll just lie down and wait for the dream

  • Key Arena security was pretty nutty in general that night. This lady near me was screaming at people and calling them idiots for not seeing the "No beer inside" sign

  • Security wasn't very secure from my perspective. I never even got looked at either night and just walked right in. The whole no beer on the floor thing was pretty ridiculous as Eddie pointed out.

The first night I opened up my bag and the security gal barely glanced down at it. She did not look in it.

The second night they looked at my bag more thoroughly. My bf was wearing cargo shorts and got questioned about what was in his pockets...keys, iphone, wallet. The security guy almost seemed ticked that he didn't have anything that he shouldn't.

I wore a hat both nights - never had to take it off.

In fact, I too found security very lax. I snuck in what I wanted to sneak in. ;)

Wore a mullet wig both nights. I don't think they even cared to scan my ticket, much less get me to take it off, only scanned it cos I stuck it up to them. :)

There many, many other way's for a taper to bring in gear to a show, other then the old school 'check your hat or hood' please!
