    Understand this Ten, Vs. Vitalogy were albums that definied a generation. It will be hard for any band to recapture that kind of magic.     My main problem with the album it sounds like ITW and Avocado left overs, am I a hater because I didn't want Pearl Jam to release an album they already made?

    Most of it is better than much of Avocado. In many ways, Avocado was just practice for Backspacer.

    I liked Avocado a lot...so far I'm really liking this one too. I must have no musical taste whatesoever!

    and we are off.... another great thread... where what i say is wrong and what you say is right... i wonder if some people talk this way in person.... if they do it makes me aware of why they have so many posts.... no friends... im not saying all just the mouthy ones....

    Isn't the purpose of music to touch, inspire, and move people? who is anyone to cut someone down for having an opinion or a certain taste of music. I happened to love self titled and it brought me back to pj, i then went back and bought the previous 2. Binaural is now my favorite pearl jam album, i know that im in the vast minority with that, does that mean i have shitty taste in music? some pearl jam fans come off as elitist assholes, and it pisses me off, sorry for the rant

    I like Avocado a lot, too. When it came out, I think I might have even called it the "best thing since Yield."

    I'm handing that title to Backspacer now. :)
