they said the same thing about the self titled album though, and nothing...
hopefully if they do it'll actually feature mike mccready ;/
In July 2007 Densmore said that he would not rejoin The Doors unless it was fronted by Eddie Vedder. Densmore says, "I play with Jim. If there's someone of that level, OK. I'm not gonna join them with Ian. That's not to diss Ian, he's a good singer - but he's no Jim Morrison. Eddie Vedder? My God, there's a singer."
They may do something with it in about 6 months. This means they probably won't touch this stuff until after their 2010 tour is over...and if you give them time to work out their "ideas" to these songs, it could be at least one year from now before these B-sides come out. By then, they may work a few more songs and release it as a new album. Don't get too excited over the possibility of seeing new material in less than a year from now.

In a radio interview last month he specifically mentioned an "E.P."
Wow I hope so I would love that. Everyone complains about how they don't jam enough on their albums but I could see them putting out 8 to 10 minute songs if the album only has 6 to 7 tracks on it. At least that's what Id hope they would do with an EP.
he's been saying this in multiple interviews, weeks before backspacer's release. still this is definitely fucking awesome news! i really hope it happens! backspacer is essentially flawless, so these b-sides must be no joke!

Just saw this. Awesome news if its true. This album was a little short for my taste so another couple of songs in the next six months would be awesome.
