Uh, sorry ... neither PJ nor Nirvana are going to get into the Ballet Hall of Fame. Although I hear Stone once did play in a tutu. Not the same thing!

Is there really a vote on these things, like Cooperstown?

Or do they just, you know, just decide?

I'm not sure there are "ballots." And if so, who votes?

oh wow, yea I could definitely see that happening. would be awesome.

unfortunately if both PJ and Nirvana are to be first ballot, Nirvana would be two years ahead of PJ. you can be nominated only after 25 years of the release of the first album.

    Nirvana: "Bleach" - 1989
    Pearl Jam: "Ten" - 1991

would've been a hell of a ceremony if both could be the same year. maybe they'll make Nirvana wait ;)

But don't they count "Nevermind" as their '"debut" album? Sort of like when someone wins best new artist. And theyve been around for years.

Pearl Jam will be inducted by (I changed my mind again) Chris Cornell
Nirvana will (unfortunately) be inducted by Courtney Love

I think "debut" is just that, "debut."

and I think Neil, a.k.a. Godfather of Grunge, HAS to induct either PJ or Nirvana

I hate to admit it, but on second thought I think it might be Courtney. I don't wanna sound like a jackass, but I really hope it's not her. and Cornell would be fantastic too.

Usually they try to get artists that were influenced by the artist to induct them. So having Michael Stipe induct Nirvana and young or townsend induct PJ would be cool, it may not happen.

So who are the popular artists of today that were influenced by Pearl Jam and Nirvana?

This won't happen till 2016 for PJ, so we may not even know the artist that is going to induct them.

Pearl Jam will not make it 1st ballot

    Nirvana will

I hate saying it, but the Seattle explosion is inevitably linked to smells like teen spirit leading the way

there was a thread a long time ago about this when Ed inducted whoever it was

Ben Harper seemed to be the favorite
