And if it is an honest mistake- Well massive mud in my face, and I will issue a public apology, do everything I can do to remove this thread, and then issue another apology about how much I suck. It could be a valid reason, hopefully. I would WAY rather be wrong and be a bitch than see a PJ'er do something like this (cuz y'know, we're all above everyone else and sooo without reproach, lol).

If? So no attempt to contact this person before flying off the handle?

Yes, I have PM'd, emailed, and PayPal messaged. But... maybe he hasn't checked them yet.

I still see the word "thief" plastered all over people's reply subjects.

Yes... moderator hasn't responded, so all I can do is change mine... and hopefully he eventually responds to my bombardment of messages sent earlier in the day. Like I said, I fully accept role of pariah if that is how this turns out.

Never, ever heard of someone being able to cancel a transaction once they send the money and I've been an ebay/PayPal user for 10 years. I think it's simply shortage of funds in this person's bank. Good of you to contact PayPal, but did you try contacting the buyer as well? Shit happens, ya know? People make mistakes. I myself am notoriously bad at keeping my checking account balance in check. And if this person just posted here yesterday thanking you for the ticket, maybe this is just a big misunderstanding. I hope you've contacted this person and tried dialog, I mean, at least before pitch forks are wielded and the townsfolk here light their torches.

I agree, this is probably just a shortage of funds and hopefully the guy will realize it and fix the problem. However, if he is indeed a crook then there isn't much you can do. I was ripped off on a ebay auction once where the guy paid with paypal and then had it canceled once I had shipped the item. I contacted paypal and they did an investigation and so did ebay. In the end there wasn't anything done and I was just shit out of luck. Lesson learned though...never never never send anything until you get the money in hand.

I will duck for cover when the appropriate objects are thrown at me if I am wrong :?

And... with all the admonitions from everyone, I am becoming uneasy... I hope I was not too hasty... but the situation, involving what is a lot of money to me, threw me into turmoil and I wasn't thinking so clearly. But I think -I have a feeling- I am right, just from some indications.

• As someone else stated, you can't renege on PayPal payment unless you don't have the funds to go through... I'd contact him and stuff, he probably had a mix up or something w/ his bank account, it happened to me once before where I forgot a bill was coming out of my bank account so I had to transfer funds and resend payment.

ya, keep going with paypal, but they take FOREVER to fix things, even if they do fix it.

and call him out, he deserves it

+1

Because if this is done privately and it hasn't been resolved, more people would do it without being humiliated in public.

Too bad - OP, if this hasn't been resolved, alert the 10c via info@tenclub.net 'cause they have info on that person since that person had to sign up with 10c in order to be a member of the fan club. :P

Sorry about the problem.... I did feel that person was shady for some reason... just a gut feeling, but couldn't say anything because I could have been wrong and had nothing to prove my gut feelings.

I hope you get your money.... good luck and keep persisting for your money, do not give up!
I hope your bank shows YOU a little compassion before they foresclose on your house, and publicly humiliate you.

I would think YOU of all people, would realize that "shit happens" and for some reason or another people are late with payments......

RIGHT???????

• yeah, more and more I'm thinking it was an honest mistake, especially if he posted a thank you to you for the tickets in another thread

I mean you would just have to be the biggest dick in the world to do that after intentially ditching payment

so I think it's a mistake

and as far as posting his real name and address, i'm pretty sure the mods would delete that if you did, so I wouldn't go that route

good luck to you

RIGHT???????

Excuse me?

I am not fucking over the bank and I do what any honest person would do - keeping in contact with my bank because we are unable to pay the mortgage payments and have expressed our concerns about the foreclosure process. Because I have kept in constant contact with the bank, they are very aware of my situation and they know that I am not trying to avoid the payments and trying to come up with alternative solutions to get back on track.

COMMUNICATION is the KEY.

As someone else stated, you can't renege on PayPal payment unless you don't have the funds to go through..

I think that if you pay via e-cheque, the purchaser can cancel the transaction until the day the funds are cleared and no longer 'pending' (ie have reached the seller's account), even if the money has been taken out of the purchaser's bank account. These funds will then be credited back to the purchaser's paypal account. It takes several days between the debiting of one account and the crediting of the other.

I am not saying at all that is what this person did, just stating that it can be done. I'm sure CBC wouldn't have posted a thank you and done this.

• similar thing happened to me over on the Home Theater Forum board. I sold an expensive monitor, got the paypal payment and actually EXTRACTED it to my bank account. Next thing I know my paypal account was NEGATIVE. The payment was recalled. I made a big stink about it on the message board and actually recalled the package in time from UPS.

Next thing I know the buyer contacted me and said it was a misunderstanding and there wasn't enough funds in his account like he thought.
So I UNrecalled the package and he resent the funds. All was well.

BUT i didnt think paypal would recall funds if I ALREADY had them withdrawn to my bank account.

I can handle the truth when I'm faced with it and always have...

But you are not making sense with your last statement because it does not apply to this situation, which the OP has attempted to contact the purchaser after paypal failure, whom by the way has repeatedly seek out for the ACL passes, literally begging for them and then the money transaction doesn't work out and that person hasn't responded.

I, for one and clearly the OP as well, really do hope it was an honest mistake and he is willing to issue a public apology, which is exactly what I would have done if I knew i made a mistake and owned up to it.

Again, please fuck off. Thank you.

I said it was a gut feeling and I was just expressing it and my opinion....which I stated that I did not say anything before, nor to anyone else. I did say that I had nothing to prove that, just my feeling.

That does not mean anyone has to agree with my opinion and feeling.

And the bank is just following their procedures and policies.

The failure lies with the OP shipping a ticket before payment cleared. OP contacted the purchaser, but how long before the possible slander started?

I read all 19 of the purchaser's posts, didn't see much begging, and only a handful seeking out ACL tickets. Again, was the purchaser allowed a CHANCE to respond before this thread was created?

*EDITED SUBJECT

I don't see how anyone here other than the OP should be worrying about an apology. The only question is whether the OP will be on the receiving end or reverse.

For 6 months you have ran around this board as the judge, jury and executioner. You stick your nose into every ebay deal, every poster deal, and every ticket deal. You call people out, you stalk them on ebay, you report them to the 10club.

Who the fuck are you?
Go take a look in the fucking mirror
Your life is perfect? You are perfect? It seems to me that your life is nothing short of a fucking trainwreck.

Who gives you the fucking right to judge anyone?

Thanks for pointing out the errors - you are right about the begging part. i stand corrected.

As for the apology issue - I would have because if it was an honest mistake and I had caused this humiliation for another person.
