I sold him my 3-day ACL pass to fix my whole "can't go to LA" situation and was excited, everything was fixed... but he cancelled the PayPal transaction once he got the ticket....     :(

• I don't like people calling out other users on the board, but that being said, can't you do something about that through paypal or something?
Don't come closer or I'll have to go

Yeah, go to paypal. They should be able to help you out.

Bummer. That really sucks.

I'm trying. PayPal is very... automated. They don't have options for cancelled payments, and the call center makes it almost impossible to talk to a real human being.

I don't want/like to call people out, but man, that shit is very un-PJ....

One needs to make sure they have the payment in hand before sending out the goods.

Because if this is done privately and it hasn't been resolved, more people would do it without being humiliated in public.

Too bad - OP, if this hasn't been resolved, alert the 10c via info@tenclub.net 'cause they have info on that person since that person had to sign up with 10c in order to be a member of the fan club. :P

Sorry about the problem.... I did feel that person was shady for some reason... just a gut feeling, but couldn't say anything because I could have been wrong and had nothing to prove my gut feelings.

I hope you get your money.... good luck and keep persisting for your money, do not give up!

Thank you, I feel really shitty, like I have been a massive muckraker lately, and maybe I should hide in the shadows again for a while.

And I am pissed at myself because I sent the pass (printpass), 1 day before payment would have been completed (it was pending/bank processing). So, my fault, and yet, it's like "Seriously? Really? You are that kind of person??" It just makes me sick to my stomach.

I do have his info, like address and such, name, email, because Paypal sends you that stuff when you do a transaction. But really, I don't think that does me any good.

Where I come from, having his name and address does a whole bunch of good. Not to his facial bone structure, but to your anger resolution. Just kidding, i'm nonviolent, but if you have his real name, post it on here. And his address. That's just shitty for one fan to steal from another.

What's everyone else's thoughts on knowing his real name?? Is it ethical for me to post it?[/quote]
I don't think that would be wise. I would hate to somehow see you get in trouble.....and you have to very VERY carefull.

That would be wrong. Certainly not ethical (even if he behaviour was less than ethical!). I thinking posting name (and address as someone mentioned) could lead to something nasty/not very nice. What would be the legality of this? I'm thinking even giving his user name could be seen as dodgy (as some people may know him)..... Stay away from real names and personal details. He may come back and give a perfectly valid explanation.....
• Whenever I have had to call paypal there is an option to press a number if you are a paypal rep. Do that, I've always been able to talk to someone using that backdoor.

Hope you get your money back.

Cheers
• That's a bummer. Just spent two weeks in Nicaragua surfing and another American ran a stop sign and crushed my rental. Contact him last week back in the States and he tells me, what are you going to do, sue me? you can't do anything to me in the states and I am not paying you dime one. This after telling me, no worries, when I get back to the US, I will cover the $1,500 you paid out of pocket for my mistake.

Maybe he didn't have money in the bank to pay??? I got through to Paypal, amazingly, and they said they would try to do something... the guy I spoke to was actually extremely helpful and personable. He said they try two times to extract the money and then after that, the payment will show as cancelled. They can't tell whether he cancelled it himself or if the money wasn't there: So it can be proactive, as in him cancelling the payment, or reactive, as in the money was just not there. Either way, it's still not right.

Thats YOU'RE call my friend....

YOU are the one who was taken, so you do whatever it is you feel is right........
• Maybe I've overlooked you already mentioning this somewhere, but did you try to sort this out with the buyer before posting here? Seems weird that s/he would have posted in the ACL and thank you only to turn around and steal from you.

before you all bring out your pitch forks and walk to his house to string him up, I'd try everything to contact the dude by email, phone, letter even...and see if this is just an honest mistake.

I actually REALLY hope, he has a good explanation, it sucks to have your faith in others shaken, especially when they are PJ fans. I really want him to be a good guy here. But as my friend AB/Aaron said (paraphrasing) recently "What? Not all PJ fans are unicorn smiles and puppy dogs?"- something like that.
• Have you tried PM'ing him/her to ask and see what the deal is?
• caveat to my suggestion to post his name - ONLY if you're 100% sure he ripped you off intentionally. If there's still a chance he made an honest mistake, make sure before you rip him using his real name.

Do you have his phone number? I'd leave him a couple of messages, give him a couple of days to reply - if he doesn't - you can be pretty sure he's a crook. Then you should burn him. Or report him to the police - taking something and cancelling the payment has to be illegal.
• And if it is an honest mistake- Well massive mud in my face, and I will issue a public apology, do everything I can do to remove this thread, and then issue another apology about how much I suck. It could be a valid reason, hopefully. I would WAY rather be wrong and be a bitch than see a PJ'er do something like this (cuz y'know, we're all above everyone else and sooo without reproach, lol).

Never, ever heard of someone being able to cancel a transaction once they send the money and I've been an ebay/PayPal user for 10 years. I think it's simply shortage of funds in this person's bank. Good of you to contact PayPal, but did you try contacting the buyer as well? Shit happens, ya know? People make mistakes. I myself am notoriously bad at keeping my checking account balance in check. And if this person just posted here yesterday thanking you for the ticket, maybe this is just a big misunderstanding. I hope you've contacted this person and tried dialog, I mean, at least before pitch forks are wielded and the townsfolk here light their torches.

i hope it's just an honest mistake b/c that's a crappy thing to do. like someone mentioned earlier, he did post in the ACL thread the other day...maybe he/she had insufficient funds & it was rejected? i don't know---call PayPal & get ahold of the buyer. hope you guys can resolve this.
