My two favorite bands in one night. Sick!

I'm also pumped because there is a very good chance that I'll get to meet PJ! A friend of mine is related to Bad Religion and has gotten me backstage before. Check out the pic below. That's Brooks (BR's drummer) in the center and me on the left (and one of my best friends on the right). You can see their bass player, Jay, in the background, too. Met Greg as well. All awesome dudes! Hopefully things work out that well in Philly!

That's sweet. Wackerman drums his ass off. Good luck with your backstage mission.
  • ok, UNKNOWN Confession/apology.
so i get home and I say to my wife- do you own a bad religion disc? and shes like hell yeah, over in the punk section. keep in mind, we have a shitload of music climbing the walls. so there it is right on my shelf Bad Religions How Could Hell Be Any Worse? so i roll this giant bone of northern lights and I pop the disc in the stereo. WOW. This disc fuckin smokes! my taste has obviously changed a lot over the years, i knew this already, and I THOUGHT i didn't like Bad religion..... turns out I fuckin do- Now time to make up, and I'm glad I have a band that i like with a huge library of music to first explore. It was the passion of the people on this board today who expressed that they are psyched to see their 2 favorite bands in one night. so thank You, and thanks to Pearl Jam.
  • nice! i've never seen them before, though it would be nice to see Kurt Vile & the Violators or The War on Drugs (both philly bands who are great live) open!
    don't compete; coexist

what are you but my reflection? who am i to judge or strike you down?

"I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank." - Barack Obama

when you told me 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em'
i was thinkin 'death before dishonor'
  • Agreed! I might bring a keg if it is allowed in the parking lot. Anyone know if that is permitted?

This is valuable information. Thank you! My husband and I kinda figured the same deal for Social D. This means get in early on the 27th and the 30th, and party longer on the 28th and 31st. :) I dig it!

Can't wait to see them live, for the first time! :)
  • i really was hoping for no opener.....so much for unrealistic expectations ;)....tho honestly i did realize, it was a stretch. eh well. i don't have an opinion about bad religion, don't know em...so that's cool. i like checking out new bands. besides i have NO choice but to go in early on 10.31 anyway, missed out on the presale for that night's poster... :( ;)
    Stay with me...
    Let's just breathe...

I am myself like you somehow

  • There was a one song difference between the 2 Chicago shows -- Let Them Eat War (night 1) was replaced by Generator night 2. For a band with so many years together and so many songs under their belt, I was shocked and disappointed that they (basically) played the same set both nights. Very odd.
  • Social D and BR are both awesome. Damn, will have to cut the tailgate short and go in early!
