"I'll tell you what: If all I had was Pearl Jam, and I didn't have another band in the world, I would not be worried. Because in there is the essence of making great music. You don't have to use it all at once, but it's there." - Neil Young

Since I'm using the "complete package" standard I can't count Backspacer because I haven't had my hands on it yet.
Also... I love the album cover for The Stone Gossard Band's "Ten."

Just based on the covers.
Backspacer is great. It's different, unexpected and new; that's what I want from musicians and their work... but it is a little 'busy' with 9 images on there. I'd be interested to see how the images come across on a small CD cover. I think it's gonna look great on vinyl but not come across as well in small format.

+1
Backspacer looks cheap to me, nothing special. And it's busy - like this:

I think the artwork looks interesting, of course we've only seen the cover. Pop-art seems to fit the Pop-rock feel of the album. At the very least, the cover has provided a lot of fun with the Backspacer Cover Artwork identification game.
Riot Act has good artwork?! I guess I need to look at it again. All I can remember is dust, iron, and darkness. Very unmemorable and really have no idea how it fits with that album. Although the album seems to have no idea who it is either.

2. Vs. - because it's a snarling animal, just like the record
3. Yield - because it's a road to the unknown, much like the band at the time
4. Binaural - because hourglass nebulas are cool
5. Backspacer - it's cartoony and different
6. No Code - kinda weirds me out...musically probably their best album though
7. Riot Act - eh, it's cool, but isn't better than the above
8. Vitalogy - way too plain
9. Avocado - why
6/29/03 - Montreal, QC 10/1/04 - Reading, PA
10/3/05 - Philadelphia, PA 5/12/06 - Albany, NY
6/27/08 - Hartford, CT (FRONT ROW CENTER!)
8/2/08 - (ev) Boston, MA 6/9/09 - (ev) Albany, NY
8/21/09 - Toronto, ON 5/10/10 - Buffalo, NY
2. Ten - when the band comes to it's end (it has to happen someday after all) I think simply looking at this album cover will bring emotion out in any fan.
3. Yield - the simplicity and symbolism. Enough Said.
4. No Code - because I can look at this album cover over and over again because I'll never ever get the picture engraved in my brain.
5. Vitalogy - I love the concept of the album as a medicine book.
6. Binaural - simple
7. Vs. - typical of the band at the time. I think that it was kind of a joke. I understand the snarling animal snarling album thing but I think it was for laughs
8. Riot Act - I completely respect it because of it's dedication but I never really caught on to the art itself.
9. Avocado - I don't think I ever got the full explanation behind this.

NOTE: Vs and Riot act can be switched, but for now i'm committing to this. Yield might also be able to be moved up...but i repeat, for now i'm committing to this. and as for Pearl Jam, although i respect it, i'm just not that big of a fan for minimalism. and also, Vitalogy is low because it reminds me of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, i love the movie, but it just doesn't work for me as an album cover
