And as we all know, the families in Iraq and Afghanistan were also impacted. Let's try to remember them too.

I agree. After reading your response I do think we should think about everyone that has been directly impacted by the events.

Also these forgotten heros who are STILL alive if only barely for a little while longer.

Today marks the eighth anniversary of 9/11, with vigils being held to remember
the nearly 3,000 people killed in the attacks. We look at a group of victims
that are often forgotten in the September 11 narrative: the thousands of rescue
workers who became sick after being exposed to contaminants at Ground Zero.
Hundreds have died. We speak to Joe Picurro, a New Jersey ironworker who worked
as a volunteer on the pile for twenty-eight days. He is now dying of lung
disease. We also speak with Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), who is co-sponsoring
the 9/11 Health and Compensation Act, and Dr. Jacqueline Moline, director of the
World Trade Center Medical Monitoring and Treatment Program at the Mount Sinai
    School of Medicine.

Almost everyone who lives in NYC metro area knows someone who died that day or knows someone who knows someone who died that day. Not to mention the other flights and in Washington. This is an incredibly insensitive post by you, you should be ashamed of yourself.

I think it's disrespectful to mention the people who died on 9/11 and ignore the people who died as a result of America using 9/11 to justify illegal wars - namely the hundreds of thousands of innocent people in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as the millions who have been made refugees, and the millions more who have had their lives ruined.

Sigh. Can't there just be one thread to remember 9.11 that doesn't get dragged down in political bullshit? Just one?

If you want to start a thread to memorialize the Afghan victims of 9.11, be our guest. But why muck up and perfectly good thread, one that was meant to be non-controversial, with this stuff?

Even if you believe George W. Bush himself ordered the 9.11 attacks, you can still agree they were a horrible thing, right? Right?

    Sometimes, the Internet just sucks.

its not the internet that sucks, its this forum. I frequent several other boards, and this one, by far, is the worst with this type of shit
  • you say I'm a conspiracy theorist?....that's fine...i say you're all fucking naive..I've studied 1000's of articles read 100's of facts, watched dozens of documentaries and have seen 9-11 broken down to just pure mathematics and physics over the past 8 years...that coupled with my ability of independent thought and it is soooo obvious and easy to see that it was an inside job! so go ahead and swallow the disinformation you are spoon fed by the corporate controlled media, hide your head in the sand, pretend like you know more than me about what happened...the enemy is domestic not foreign and your being duped, raped & bamboozled.

We took a moment of silence at work today for the victimes of 9/11. It's the least we all can do is honor them, at least before we start fighting about who's fault it was. But I see I'm too late for that.

And I think re-watching the attack on t.v. is doing the victims and their families no justice. I never, ever, want to see those images again, and feel that no one should have to, to remember how awful a day it was. That includes Bush's ugly mug while he sat in a classroom doing nothing. It's a horrible tragedy that was completely avoidable. It's not likely for one to study the facts of the events of the day and to not have questions as to why things happened and how. There's way too many loopholes.

I've found this to be true, also. I'm just not quite sure why that is.

You are a moron. I respected your opinion before today and respected the fact you questioned things but this is just too much. For every myth you have there are facts that prove other wise.

You know what the wonderful thing is? You are in the extreme minority. Enjoy your fantasy world with your fired ("retired") professor, who's research is pretty terrible by the way.

You won't get a rise out of me again.

Oh, and there are also dozens of documentaries that prove Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster exist

so i think you are the ones who need to be quiet...respect the people who actually lost family and loved ones that day!!!

and I'm not joking. I do believe in bigfoot. i believe an undiscovered primate is in the forest/mountains of remote areas of the earth.

9.11 conspiracy theories claiming an inside job have been thoroughly debunked. time and time and time again.

Could we at least take this crap to the 9.11 conspiracy thread? Seems a far more appropriate place for it than this.

Steven Jones is far from respectable. His research is shoddy at best and has been disputed by many, more respectable phd's

Sorry, you got one more rise out of me.

My friend's father was killed in the towers on 9/11, we were only in middle school at the time, it was very sad, so i can definitely empathize with those who lost loved ones in the attacks, but that doesn't mean we should forget all those who were killed because of our country acting irresponsibly, to say the least.

edit: nor should we forget the people living in our country who have been affected by racial profiling and by laws like the PATRIOT ACT.

Why not go after the people who did this and I'm not talking about Iraq. If the soldiers didn't want to die for this country they should not have signed up for the military.
