A left winger version of a right winger idiot. Only thoughtful, creative, damn sexy, a cage fighter and a small business owner........oh, and not repressed sexually or a closet homosexual,...... plus I respect women and love diversity.

So, not a version of anything right wing.....sorry.....I should have left it alone after the first three words.

  • I thought this thread was a link to Eddie and Neil playing Long Road......a tribute to heroes....all the biggest heroes imaginable.

For the record: My heart fills up with pride and anger just like all of the rest of the people here. I will forever shout that we (you and I) are not the enemies.....but that message never seems to resonate....maybe I need to approach it differently....who knows.

I, too, am thinking about every person that lost someone today. If you read all my posts there is definitely a theme....I have nothing but respect for those brave soldiers and public protectors, and I feel I can repay them by defending them the way I know how......making sure they are never abused by being sent into harms way for something other than true national security etc. simple.

The disinformation out there is what kills me.....the hatred for men who fight their whole lives (at a level I am not close to capable of) get no respect and no honest reflections. For example...Ted Kennedy....just read this, it will shock you.....many believe he was anti-american somehow.....when in reality, he alone, fought for every single thing we would want our service men and women (and transgendered...hahaha...just joking, lighten up) to have.....not once, but his WHOLE LIFE......unlike those that are labeled as "pro-troop"

    http://www.democraticunderground.com/di ... 32x1737342

For some reason, IMO, the people that do the actual work to protect our soldiers are branded as the ones working against them. It is because they dont sell themselves and rattle the loudest...they have work to do...?? I distrust everyone equally....it really isnt that hard to find out who has America's interest in mind if you turn down the radio and look into your self.

And, I am undecided on the easter bunny.........

Vedderwt, Why are you acting like a child on a thread created to remember and respect the victims of 9/11?

It's disrespectful to all of the victims.
I think it's disrespectful to mention the people who died on 9/11 and ignore the people who died as a result of America using 9/11 to justify illegal wars - namely the hundreds of thousands of innocent people in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as the millions who have been made refugees, and the millions more who have had their lives ruined.

My friend's father was killed in the towers on 9/11, we were only in middle school at the time, it was very sad, so i can definitely empathize with those who lost loved ones in the attacks, but that doesn't mean we should forget all those who were killed because of our country acting irresponsibly, to say the least.

edit: nor should we forget the people living in our country who have been affected by racial profiling and by laws like the PATRIOT ACT.

How am I acting like a child? I wrote a long post about how I support the same exact things as everyone else that has written on here, and I defended some of the people that were being directly called "crazies" or idiots, then I got called an idiot and I defended myself, so I am the child?

Why are you acting like a salad face?

Forgot to mention we shouldn't forget those in the first Iraq war.

I don't see the need to discuss conspiracy theories, what the administration did wrong, political beliefs, Jesus or make jokes on a thread dedicated to remembering the victims of the attacks. 3,000 families were impacted by this and if one were to stumble on this board I would imagine they would be thoroughly insulted.

Today is a day to remember the victims and support the families that are living the tragedy.

I agree. After reading your response I do think we should think about everyone that has been directly impacted by the events.

This thread had a link to Eddie Vedder and Neil Young playing Long Road??!! There was no commentary about what it was about.......someone posted some lyrics, and then someone posted a statue of Mary or Jesus , then someone posted a picture of a banner and everyone went crazy.... THEN, everyone started saying "What, do you believe in the easter bunny too...." "I should have known the crazies and idiots would show up, at least they are out numbered". Go read the progression and tell me where I am so out of place.

My response addressed all of this and explained my side. If anyone is offended by my beliefs, they have that right. The last thing I will ever do is refrain from expressing myself because you dont want me to. I dont think I am disrespecting a single rational person, but to those that are so entrenched with a certain way of thinking, I am sure that I am....and I dont worry about that. If you would read my first post and look at the progression since then, you have no legs to stand on.....I support and honor every fallen hero and I do it in ways other than throwing a sticker on my car and going back to my normal life......

I almost entirely agree with your original post. It's the nonsense after it and the fact I didn't/don't think it belongs on this thread that I disagree with.

Gotcha....... I guess I was fine to let it degenerate further since my whole point is that one side won't listen to ANYTHING and wont reply with anything thoughtful or substantive....people said nothing in response other than their well thought out insult that I am idiot and they read my post buy it sucked. It may have, but say why.....so, I get your point...I guess I just don't see this thread dedicated to one thing and that the degeneration is actually an endemic result to every genuine approach to anything even closely resembling communication on the topics at hand. Still, your point is well taken.

People who think 9/11 was an inside job are idiots.

Great, then you'll have no trouble in addressing just one of the 115 lies/omissions listed in this page.
I look forward to hearing your response.
