I love it. The "I must have it now" mentality doesn't know how to react!
I agree. Although If and when Backspacer arrives a couple days early I will be spinning it non-stop. I don't get those people who will wait even when they have the purchased album a couple days early.
5/28/06 - Camden, NJ 5/30/06 - Washington, DC 6/22/08 - Washington, DC 10/31/09 - Philadelphia, PA 8/5/16 - Fenway Park Temple of the Dog - 11/5/2016 - Philadelphia, PA 7/1/2018 - Prague 7/3/2018 - Kraków 7/5/2018 - Berlin
My question is will all the Target employees (that are fans) go through the boxes over the next week when shipments come in and sticky finger a copy and then post or leak it? You know Target warehouses will have them in just days from now.

ok, we're 10 days out now ... can't folks just wait the extra week plus?
not directed at the OP, but at the folks who are obsessed with finding this before it actually comes out.
I think a lot of people, myself included, want to be familiar with it before the Seattle/Vancouver/Portland shows, it is kind of hard to get really familiar with an album in 1 day.

Yes. Before last week I wanted it to leak early, but at this point I'm just going to wait for the album to arrive at my door which will hopefully be one week from today. Even if I read about a leak this weekend I'll just wait..I've been listening to other music lately so haven't been thinking about Backspacer so much. I may listen to a leak if I don't get it by next Sat though
2003: San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Seattle; 2005: Monterrey; 2006: Chicago 1 & 2, Grand Rapids, Cleveland, Detroit; 2008: West Palm Beach, Tampa; 2009: Austin, LA 3 & 4, San Diego; 2010: Kansas City, St. Louis, Columbus, Indianapolis; 2011: PJ20 1 & 2; 2012: Missoula; 2013: Dallas, Oklahoma City, Seattle; 2014: Tulsa; 2016: Columbia, New York City 1 & 2; 2018: London, Seattle 1 & 2; 2021: Ohana; 2022: Oklahoma City
Glad it didn't leak gives me something to look forward too!
I agree. Every time I see one of those threads titled "It Leaked!!!!!!!!!!!" I get this momentary rush and think "where?! where?!" But then I calm myself down and realize we've got (hopefully) about a week until the real thing is in the mailbox. For that matter, I can't remember a time when I've ever listened to a leaked album.

don't worry.. the seattle shows are going to be all Ten and Vs...
Although for me too much of this gas been revealed officially to date. Snippets and the likes. There's only 5 tracks we've not been introduced to
five? Every song has been introduced in one way or another.
yeah, I'm pretty impatient and have listened to 30 seconds to two minutes per unreleased song already from the clips that have been put out...that said, even though I'm impatient, there's a part of me that really doesn't want this to leak so it will be that much sweeter when it finally arrives!

If they didn't do the Target deal it probably would not leak at all. Some Target employee will probably leak it though sometime next week.
most target workers are age 16-24 and probably could careless bout pearl jam.
I actually worked overnights at Target in 1998 when Yield came out. It arrived at the store over a week before it was supposed to hit the shelves and I helped myself to a copy.

I'm sure it's posted somewhere, but I didn't read this until I saw it on Wiki:
Those who pre-order the album through Pearl Jam's official website will receive a version of the album with different packaging than the retail version. Similar to the fan club pre-order version for the band's 2006 album, Pearl Jam, this fan club pre-order version resembles a book and has the liner notes bound inside it.

It's kinda like when the Harry Potter books came out. People got them and read them that day--all 600 pages.
If ya smeeelllllllllllllllllll what the kings of rock (PJ) areeee cookin.
It typical for at worst case an album to leak by the friday before the albums tuesday release. In this case its a a little off. Using that time line for the PJ case...by next tuesday night i would bet we have a leak. Im not gonna lie, im frantically checking the board waiting for that moment...no i cant wait, and yea i'll be buying many versions. All bases covered.

Agree. I expect it in my mailbox on Friday the 18th. However, I do live in Seattle, so might even get it a bit earlier.
I remember getting Avacado several days early.
