all you have to do is study the facts instead of letting yourself be spoon feed disinformation...the billions of dollars worth of it that big pharma & gov.(comprised of bought and paid for politicians) throughout the world spew to ignorant people who willingly line up to be injected with poison...which creates more sick people..which equals even more $ for big Pharma...stop being duped!

vaccines have NEVER BEEN PROVEN TO WORK...EVER!!! and that's a FACT!!!!!

  • URA Crazy Breed, I get that you think what arq reads is uninformed dribble, but what I'm not following is why you think your sources are so amazingly credible that they leave no room for debate.

So, what are your sources of information and why are they credible?

Everyone I know who gets a flu shot gets the flu. And yes, then said person commences to bitch about having the flu.

I think that's why they call it a "flu shot" :D (think "cortisone shot").

I would say it's not worth the risk. I wish I could remember the details, but there was a story recently about a guy who got really fucked up because of a flu shot. I wanna say he ended up in a wheelchair, permanently, but please don't quote me on that... I'm kicking myself because I can't remember exactly what happened, but it had something to do with mercury. I just remember that it was really bad.

I will be getting a flu shot. I only started getting one in the last couple of years even though I've typically worked around lots of people and had plenty of chances to be exposed. I haven't gotten sick from the shot so far and I haven't gotten the flu since I've been getting a shot. I always used to get the flu and I can remember one especially bad bout with it about 10 years ago when I was so sick I was wishing I would just go ahead and die and get it over with.

I'm in one of the at-risk groups (over 50). For once, it's an advantage because I fall into the group that doesn't have to worry about H1N1--if you were born before 1957 you've been exposed to it and you don't need a vaccination.

URA Crazy Breed, as far as the risk from exposure to aluminum in vaccines and the possible link to Alzheimer's Disease, I am exposed to aluminum in countless ways daily that are extremely difficult for me to avoid and I'm not concerned that this is going to increase my risk. There is already a history of Alzheimer's in my family, which I can't control and which I frankly find a lot scarier than getting a flu shot.

    this thread has gone mad

if you want a flu shot get it .... if you dont, dont .... you wont die from the shot, and you wont die from the flu ... so its win win

Didn't read this whole thread so will just answer the question. Yes. We get one every year, ever since I got the flu and wanted to die. It's the sickest I've ever been and I've had one ever since, which is probably 25 years now or more. I've never had any reaction from the shot and I know it only semi-protects you from the most common ones but I feel it is worth it. :)

  • When I was working with the general public, dealing with hundreds of people a day, yes.

I see no reason to get it this year. I deal with the same five or six people everyday and I'm healthy.

Unless there's a shortage for the people who really need it, it doesn't hurt to get it. I'm not going to waste $30 on it this year though.

I have no opinion on it a guess.

That said, does the flu shot stop colds?

I ask only because I normally get a few colds every year.. the one year I got a flu shot I didn't have so much as a sniffle for a good 18 months.. Maybe just coincidental.
  • if I can get it free again this year, than yes. not sure how much good it did.
