have at least played high school sports just to understand the concept of being part of a team.
Charlie Weis never played a sport.
Charlie Weis is a sports talk guy?
And look at his head coaching record. Maybe he should have.
my point was that people don't have to play a sport to talk about it or even coach it. just like people don't have to be able to play music to be knowledgeable about it.
war pj, rome, sklars and slam man!
OUT!
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.
jim rome said gotta love the u, even if you hate the u, and you shouldnt. you got to love the u

Ihave been listening to the jungle my entire life it seems....
The guy is clearly talented and if you follow the show you know how damn funny it is. I compare Van Smack to Pearl Jam. Incredibly talented and puts out great material, but if you don't listen then you just don't get it.
War Delonte West, mole face rock, Ryne Sandberg, Rex Hudler and Phil Jaaaaaackson.

i hate the u ever since they beat my horns 46-3 in the cotton bowl. i was 11. i cried.
I remember that game. Tx had the best safety in college football by the name of Stanley "The Sheriff" Richardson(?). Randill Hill ran into the tunnel after a TD and began shooting his six-gunns!! Classic.
After this game the NCAA issued the "Miami Rule" aka no celebrating

just had jerry and mike on from aic.
they killed it.
jerry told the story about being at the LA show the other night and being blown away by hunger strike and watching alive and havin mccready run over to him during the second solo with a guitar screaming, "just solo in E...SOLO IN E!!"
Jim Rome is great. I don't really watch his TV show at all but listen to the radio show whenever I can. I grew up on it here in Southern California and the humor is just part of life now. Funniest shit around. He's got great taste in music too. Greg Hetson from Bad Religion is a pal and comes on every once in a while.
i listened to enough Rome to know that
a) he isn't great
b) he isn't funny
c) he knows little about sports
You haven't listened to enough then. You may not get the humor, not everyone will, but he definitely knows what the fuck he's talking about when it comes to sports. That's such a moronic statement, you should have your keyboard revoked. Rack me, I'm out!

Heard it again, yesterday. Didn't get to listen much today. I love when Jim has cool musicians on. He had Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown formerly of Pantera(currently in Down) on some time earlier this summer and Jerry Cantrell and Mike Inez of AIC recently of course. He also gives props to one of my favorite bands,Rise Against, often. Lets not forget the original jungle band and one of my all time favorites, Bad Religion, have made several appearances on the show over the years. Now if they could only get PJ on, I wonder who would be the most willing band member, maybe Jeff. I'm stru-ga-ling with the answer.

The Jim Rome show is quite possibly the worst sport talk show on tv
Amen to that. And radio too.

one of my favorite interviews on rome ever
Cantrell: Whaaa???
M.C.: JUST SOLO IN E!!
Classic!
to be honest cantrell looked lost up there and struggled to play anything decent. guess he's no where near as good at improv as mike
