His radio show is 10x better than his tv show.
  • I like his show and like hearing PJ on it. He also plays something else now and then as intro music, I just can't remember what it is.

neither of them ever played a sport in their lives (apparently), yet they present themselves as experts on everything related to sport. you don't have to have been a professional athlete to be a good sports talk guy, but you should have at least played high school sports just to understand the concept of being part of a team.

Almost every show I listen to throughout the day whether it's sports or politcal talk plays PJ bumper music and I love hearing it! I've heard You Are (obviously the producer was a fan), Severed Hand (on the same show every day), Brain of J. (on Rome), The Fixer is on ESPN everyday it seems and then you turn on Letterman and the band is playing Life Wasted or Hail, Hail, I've heard them several times. Rome takes time to get used to, sometimes a little of him goes a long way but at least he doesn't pause and say 'ah,' three or four times in every sentence like a lot of those guys.

  • When I first started watching Jim Rome I thought he was a complete tool, but he has strangely grown on me and I actually enjoy his show. If you want to see a great impression of him, Frank Caliendo does one...enjoy....

    yes it is.
radio show is great. you just need to listen for awhile to get the jokes.

i've heard brain of j, faithful and some tool..

on a side note. on espn last night they did a nfc west profile. it opened with a cardinals superbowl run "music video"
got some was the music. was cool

    sorry if mentioned already
  • Jim Rome is great. I don't really watch his TV show at all but listen to the radio show whenever I can. I grew up on it here in Southern California and the humor is just part of life now. Funniest shit around. He's got great taste in music too. Greg Hetson from Bad Religion is a pal and comes on every once in a while.
Using the word "methinks" in your message board posts doesn't make you look smart.
  • Jim Rome is like a driving by a bad car accident for me. Its horrible but I can't look away.

Well actually I can. He's just terrible. I'm getting mad just thinking about his stupid voice, "uhrrrrrrrrrrrr"
    WHY DOES HE DO THAT?

    must stop typing now

i listened to enough Rome to know that
    a) he isn't great
    b) he isn't funny
    c) he knows little about sports

And look at his head coaching record. Maybe he should have.

I like Rome. He plays a lot of good stuff. He played the new Alice In Chains coming out of a break today as well.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.
