As much as I'm dying for additional east coast dates, let us not forget that the 2008 "mini tour" was all east coast. Boston is awesome but they always hit it up- remember Sept 2004 when they plated 2 shows in Boston for the hell of it? They'll be in the north east to support Backspacer eventually...I suspect sometime after the holidays/new year. Don't worry, I don't think Pearl Jam is dumb enough to skip their largest markets while touring on a new album.

Oh, I also wanted to add- I thought Chicago fans were way better than Boston, and I've been to 12 shows in Boston/Mansfield.

  • No Boston or NY until the 2010 Watch it Go to Fire tour. I live in Massachusetts and I'm not bitching about not getting a show this year...I'm traveling to Philly and I'm looking forward to it. I don't care where I go to see Pearl Jam...just as long as I have tickets I am happy. Philly is going to be AWESOME! :D

  • I am going to philly for 2 shows, but i am just saying, kind of random tour dates. there is like a month of open dates to fill.

And i do agree, Chicago and seattle are best shows for fans, but i meant on east coast NYC and Boston are by far the best.

But i am sorry, anyone who says the spectrum is a good venue is lost. Maybe back in the 70's. But it's like the pimple in the sports area. Phillies and Eagles blow it away. I was and am just surprised.

Saying Boston and NYC have better fans isn't ignorant, it's true. Ever been to an Eagles game. Philly fans are crazy.

But i cant wait to enjoy the philly shows. love philly, but make sure you all wash your hands often

You sir are dumb ass. Which is not shocking for this board.

Yeah - the only thing worse than constantly seeing so many east coast dates are the people who think they are entitled to more of them!

I'm a NYer who has been attending as many shows as I could locally since '98. I'm personally glad that this year they are not playing tri-state area.Cause after I blow all my cash traveling this year to see them, it will be nice to jump on a train and relax into Penn station for 2010 shows. This is my 1st year traveling on a plane to see them, and its exciting.

Dont worry fellow NY/NJ and Boston fans....new album equals shows soon after. Remember its a business, and they aint skipping two big markets(ones that love them very much)

and if you cant get your asses down to Philly(about 2hrs from metro NY area) for at least 1 show(cough,Halloween, cough) then u shouldn't complain

    Enjoy the shows everyone

    whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooosh

thats the sound of your credibility going out the window
as far as arenas go, the spectrum is one of, if not the best for concerts on the east coast.

anyone who has seen a number of shows at the spectrum knows this-its much more intimate and its sound system is MUCH better than MSG(which is horrible IMHO)

perhaps you would prefer seeing bands in a shiny new corporate arena where your chicken fingers get delivered to your seat?

jones beach? are you kidding? TD bankforth garden or whatever its called now? Come on man.

just kidding, i like new york, boston's OK. Philly is a shithole.
  • There's no way this douchebags age is double digits.

I just hope the band plays 5 shows in NYC next year and another 5 in Boston and this dingledick gets shut out for tickets to all 10 shows.

    Okay ,okay...where to start.....

Yeah, first, I don't think you've seen a show in Philly before. So go on under appreciating a Philly crowd. There's no need for me to prove you wrong - I think the shows will speak for themselves.

Two, venues....what do the Phillies or Eagles have to do with a band playing an indoor venue? Because I sure as hell would rather see PJ play at the Spectrum than Citizens Bank, the Linc, or Wachovia Center. And hey, don't be surprised, because it looks like retarded runs in your genes.

Thirrrrdly, Philly fans are crazy. You're right. I like my beer cold, my homosexuals flaming, and my sports fans foaming at the mouth thirsty for blood. And this is why Philly fans are the tits.

Look, what I'm trying to tell you is we(Philly) can't help being sooo fucking awesome alright? We cannot teach Awesome, it's just the way it is. It'd be like asking Pavarotti, "Teach me to sing like you." Now go along with yourself and your need to needle home the point that NY and Boston are so fucking sweet. It's just a shame you guys can't be as awesome as us dirtbags - which we wear with pride mind you. Food's better, accent's better, personality's better, we're....just....better.

There. That should get this thing stirred up again.... 8-)

Well, if you want to get technical, they played Camden, NJ in 2008 as well which is basically Philly in my opinion.

Except for the little oversight that is Super Bowl XXXIV. Too bad the Eagles couldn't squeak past the Pats. Too bad. Oh, and don't use the whole cheating thing either. The Pats could have beaten the Eagles with no lights on that night. The Eagles had 4 chances to win Super Bowls in the form of NFC Championship appearances and choked. Keep telling yourselves you're the best. It sounds good doesn't it? Too bad it's a lie.
