New people are a good thing. Some older fans will get bored and move on to other things, it sucks but it happens. The band needs new fans and new blood to keep it relevant and keep it evolving - so do these boards a lot of the time. Personally, I'd like to see someone other than the same usual suspects discussing every single thread.
And a new 10C member or board member doesn't necessarily mean a new 'fan'. I've loved Pearl Jam since 92 and been a member for less than a year. I simply ran out of more interesting things to do with my life and ended up here!

Hey!
Ha... I agree with you - though I don't like it because I like the "old" fans, but change is sometimes good and not necessarily a bad thing for the "older" fans.
My daughter is a new blood and it'd be interesting to see her take on the whole thing - she's turning 14 in a few weeks and I just signed her up.
I was blown away with her username... didn't expect it even though I knew one of her goals is to go to Japan as an exchange student when she gets to high school.
Her username is JunjouAmaranth.
So.... watch your language around here and make her mom look good... which means covering my ass when I get in trouble!
JA: Why do I get the Ticketmaster question?
EV: It's your band.

I'm sure there will be a few who will join for a year or 2 for tix to the new tour, get their fill, and then be off again. I think we know the folks around here who are here to stay.
man when i saw your avatar i thought i had logged on to the George Michael fan site some how!!
Hopefully my belly button doesn't look like what you're suggesting!!! Maybe it does? LOL, keeping it on anyway.
it does...
I work as a Nurse and I've seen enough to tell you that it does..
Beavis : Is this Pearl Jam?
Butt-head: This guy makes faces like Eddie Vedder.
Beavis: No, Eddie Vedder makes faces like this guy.
Butt-head: I heard these guys, like, came first and Pearl Jam ripped them off.
Beavis: No, Pearl Jam came first.
Butt-head: Well, they both suck.

+1. I never got around to being a 10C member because after the 2000 tour, I always did better with ticketmaster tickets than my 10C friends. I figured I would always be behind. I'm so glad I am a 10C member now, and should have still done it 11 years ago (I was 16 then and my concert career began).

Way too much has been made of the so-called poppiness of The Fixer.
Exactly, you guys are acting like every 14-year-old girl in the country is obsessively listening to this song, which obviously is not the case. The people who like "The Fixer" are more likely to be people who were already Pearl Jam fans or people who like music similar to them.
Howdy Fan since the beginning. Haven't joined the club till now for no particular reason. thought I would give it a shot this year. I'm enjoying reading the threads so far and getting caught up on so much information. I'm really enjoying seeing some of the more obscure information present on this board.
I'm living up in BC keeping the flame alive and trying to introduce as many people as I can to new music and especially live shows of the band.
Looking forward to trying to track down some old bootlegs of my first 3 shows too!

Find be yourself.
Don't follow the herd.
Don't repeat in spite of the encores.
