Going to Philly? Want to hear Crown of Thorns?

I love this fucking song so much!(when Ed sings it) it's a real gem and i long to hear it live & in person...how about you?




they don't play this one too much but maybe if we get a "mass request" going the guys will be gracious enough to play it for us.

    If there is a person out there who doesn't want to hear Crown live, they have serious issues...

    They played it a few years ago when they played at the Wachovia Center right next door.

    I don't know if that works in your advantage or not this time around.

    I guess with four shows, anything is possible.

    actually, to be honest, I dont. Its too slow and we have heard it before. How about something different like Star Dog Champion?! Now we are talkin and that will help tear the Spectrum roof off!

    4 nights in Philadelphia ....we should hear lots of obscure, rarely played songs.

    My Jedi Mind Tricks wont work on Ed but I just want to hear something different like StarDog or something else MLB besides the momentum show killer C of T....just one man's opinion!!

    I can defintely get behind Crown of Thorns and Hunger Strike. Special guest Chris Cornell, anyone?! I heard it at Wachovia in '05, amazing song at an absolutely incredible show. Probably my favorite show to date, and I say this after my car got totaled in a hit and run on the way out of the parking lot! :twisted:

    and don't ever beleive the HYPE

    always set goals much lower(much easier to attain) baby steps

    i hope they play corduroy. cause that is the BEST SONG. crown of thorns is second best to corduroy. sorry?

    Yes, yes, yes, and YES! Please play Crown of Thorns in Philly, as long as it isn't night 1 (the 27th), since I can't make that show.

    When I met Ed after the Toronto show in 2003, I asked if they could play it in Philly (Camden) later that year. I seem to remember him saying they'd play it or try to, but nonetheless I didn't get my request fulfilled that year. The next time Pearl Jam played Philadelphia proper was the 2005 show I could not make it to, so of course it was played there. If it isn't played at the Spectrum before the final show there, I'm hoping they will notice the costume I'll be wearing on Halloween and be inspired to play this song.

    ah don't buzzkill it. the hype is inescapable given the gravity of the last shows there and all the rumors surrounding specials guests/openers/ghosts that will magically appear and crush a duet w ed....i think in this case the vibe will carry the shows, but that's just my guess.

    play crown of thorns! it soared in '05 across the parking lot.
