We'll have to call the plumber for some leakage.

joe-the-plumber.jpg

Let's not turn this into a "can't believe you guys can't wait" or "this is no way to listen to a album for the first time" thread.

    It's gotta happen soon, surely?!

I've been checking the boards every few hours hoping that a plumber will need to be called.

I hope so. I never thought it would NOT be my ten month old keeping me up at night. If I check on him in the middle of the night...I just have to logon to the normal sites and see if it has leaked. Sad.

Unfortunately I'm going to be at college for awhile, so I can't really download it even if it does leak (I'm not taking any chances with downloading at this place, I'm not about to get kicked out or fined).

I've checked just about everywhere I can think of, just a few fake torrents and that's about it - grrrr!

I think this is the longest a album has NOT leaked for Pearl Jam. At least as far as I can remember...which was Yield

    I want the plumber!

Definitely.... I think Yield was one of the first albums to get internet leakage.

I can't think of many recent albums that haven't leaked. The Black Crowes, but they just haven't let ANYBODY have it early, even reviewers and that's just not fair.

MMJ's Evil Urges was ridiculous. I was out a few months before release.

I think I screwed myeslf over by listening to that 5 minute sampler of each song from Backspacer. Ever since then I've been completely impatient.

5 minute song sampler? You mean you heard 55 minutes of an album that is only 36 minutes? HOLY FUCK LET ME IN ON THIS!!! ;)

I'm sure it will leak soon, there are a lot of reviews out for the album now, work is being done on Rock Band for it. It is obviously in a lot of peoples hands right now so its just a matter of time.

Perhaps I worded it wrong. The mp3 I have is about 5 and a half minutes long and includes a 20-30 second snippet of each song. Someone compiled it from the files that used to be up at AmazonUK

  • the fact it hasnt leaked yet is just mind boggling. I dont think PJ have the same type of security that Radiohead or Tool has before an album release. 10,000 days seemed more guarded and secretive than any other album I can think of, save In Rainbows. In Rainbows didnt leak, but 10,000 days did.

critics have heard the record, the band has mentioned they have listened to it in full, and no doubt family members have it, and what not,

I would think its at the plant right now, so the fact it hasnt leaked, is something I dont fully understand.

pj probably made all the reviewers and rock band sign a contract not to leak backspacer or else they will be sued. it's really cool backspacer hasn't leaked yet.

I, for one, am glad that this album hasn't leaked yet!! I have been on a bit of a music binge and I don't think I could handle listening to another (awesome) album!!! In the past few days I have really gotten in punk music and it's taken over my life! I now know almost the entire Dead Kennedy's discography and the first 4 Ramones albums!! On top of that I have really gotten into these old Beach Boys records I forgot I had. Oh, and my good friend made me an AWESOME Carpenters mix that is pwning my ears!! So much good music!!! :)

I'm sure thats the case with almost any band but there is always someone who manages to get one who shouldn't. Just takes that one wrong person and then it's out. I hope it doesn't leak at all but if I did, I would have a hard time not listening to it.

yea i understand that... but whenever the first time i hear it the album is the first time so whether it's before the release or after, the music remains the same...but the true test of the album will come with the first spin of the vinyl...can't wait for that!!

I think not having a record company really helps...however, we are close enough to the release date now that it is being printed and distributed to the press...it could be any time.

the reviews you have read are derived from managed listening sessions. I heard a toronto writer mention he had to hear it in a car with a PJ rep.

    That would be cool.

Advance copies for review are probably watermarked. That way they can trace all copies and bring some serious legal problems for any leaker.

I'm delighted it isn't out there yet. Three more weeks won't kill anyone. If it does hit the web early, I'm sure they'll stream it on the website to give people less incentive to illegally download.
When we found the things we loved,
They were crushed and dying in the dirt.
We tried to pick up the pieces,
And get away without getting hurt,
But they caught us at the state line,
And burned our cars in one last fight,
And left us running burned and blind,
    Chasing something in the night.
