last night i saw band of horses and as is my practice at this particular venue i stood back near the mixing desk and it got me to thinking... what would the band sound like without these guys doing what they do.

Quieter, and not sounding like the sound should sound & fit in that particular venue.

Perhaps less full.

Prevents one band member from drowning out another. Makes vocals fit.

Otherwise the same.

A simple guitar wah-wah pedal would distort more.

Perhaps post this in "musicians" forum for more distinct anwers.

there are many things i love about my country but as a photographer the ultimate one is the colours. we are an island nation and sydney is split in two, three, four by water. it is a glorious city to live in and itd take a very hard sell to get me to move elsewhere.
