I couldnt believe my eyes when I saw this video. It shows Pearl Jam as a teenage wannabe group. Very commercial. Awful. Please dont do this.

it's just a performance video. Nothing to be alarmed about.

You people worry about silly things.

Please check your personal opinion of what you think the band should or should not be at the door. They don't have to listen to you.

Maybe I didn't put that the best way. But people coming onto the board bitching about the band not holding true to beliefs from the early 90's is just annoying. It is none of our business. The music industry keeps changing every day. The band is evolving with it. If they didn't, guess what...they'd be left behind. Kudos for them to WANT to keep evolving. Not only are they evolving, they are leading the charge on many issues in the music biz.

Fair enough, it gave me a laugh none the less. I just thought it came across poorly. I couldn't agree with you more anyway. All the complaining can be draining.

really? since it's a commercial for target, i'm thinking it's doing it's job
  • it is a little, i don't know, fucking cheesy. it seems to go against everything the band has always been about. like appearing in cheesy ass videos.

for the record, i love EACH song i've heard from the new album, but it seems Eddie has found some happiness in life and it's negatively impacting the band in some ways. damn him for being happy.

I totally agree. I don't think it's a "sell-out move" or anything like that. It's just a horrible video. We've seen them break their "we don't make videos" stance before with Do the Evolution and Life Wasted....but at least those videos had some artistic quality to them.

What's wrong with being happy? The last album was fucking depressing at some points...I much prefer "when something's lost I want to fight to get it back again" to "The whole world...world over...it's a worldwide suicide!"

  • I have always loved Pearl Jam not just for their music but also for their attitude towards "trendy" and useless commercial behavior. I agree that the band has changed over the time and its great...so if they are happy and they write different types of songs, excellent.
The video is still cheesy and awful though and I just dont want them to become another sellable well marketed commodity like most of the other bands. :o:o

c'mon folks, the Fixer video is prretty bad.

What the hell is with the overlaid track of the crowd cheering?? ugh ... yeah, I know, it's supposed to emulate a live performance, but it's the studio version of the song, so, it's a horrible mix.

and, I haven't had seizures from all the jump cuts this bad since Wang Chung.

Again, it's all opinion. The song is growing on me, but the video .... woof.

it is pretty bad but it is doing what it's intended to do...advertise the new album...nothing more, nothing less

The thing I dont like is the crowd noise. Makes me think of rock band. The vidto itself is just 'ok'. Opposite of the even flow video, for example.

    Me personally
    1. no I dont care for the video
    2. it is a commercial therefore I dont give a crap about its quality or realism
    3. its downloadable from itunes for NOTHING - so basically we can't complain about getting the song ahead of the album release for FREE

let's look on the bright side folks 8-) so bright in fact i gotta wear shades!

good song & i'm happy to have it

It's a live video of them directed by Cameron Crowe. Just because they are dancing around all happy does not mean they are trying to be teenagers.

i could see the jonas brothers putting out the same video. it's just cheesy and awful. i would rather they just put out a regular video of an actual live show. whatever they are trying to do with the effects and the video and audio being out of sync is just an epic failure. doesn't do the song justice.
