I remember the good ol' days when EVERY Cubs game was on WGN. Now you have to search for them on 4-5 different channels (in Chicago, anyway). Same goes for Sox.

Yeah, as a Chicago native who now lives in AZ, games not on WGN drive me nuts!
Ed wrote a song in the TV booth about Derrek Lee's double.
"D Lee hitting in the green
biggest comeback that I have ever seen
I feel it coming
and if it don't
I might lose hope
but I know I won't"
This after a question by Len Kasper about advice to young musicians. Ed replied that when you get a lyric in mind, write it down right away because it won't be the same minutes/hours later. Then Lee hit his double and Ed mentioned that he'd write a song about it.
After the commercial break, Len mentioned that he would save the lyrics forever and was impressed that he wrote it in 40 seconds.

D. Lee hittin' in the green
Biggest come back that I've ever seen
I feel it comin' and if it don't
I might lose hope but I know I won't
As a Cubs/Pearl Jam fan I hope he keeps 'em coming!

Pat mentioned to Ed how Roger Daltrey swings his mic in concert and then heard that Eddie had done the same. Ed's reply was something along the lines of yeah, but not has far as Roger. Pat mentioned one of The Who's classic gigs in Oakland 1976 with the Dead and asked Ed if he's seen them. Ed replied he's seen then 20-30 times. Wonder if he wore a "No Won't Get Fooled Again" t-shirt? j/k
Ron (Santo) asked if he still lived in Seattle. Ed replied that they all did. Ron mentioned the high temperatures in Seattle this summer. Ed replied that he got poison oak this summer. And then the bottom of the 6th ended. Didn't catch the entire inning, but he is coming up on TV in 2 outs.
Pat said something about Roger tossed his mic 60 feet into the air, caught, and would keep singing. he then asked if eddie did that. Eddie say he could only go 20 foot.
Classy interview. When asked about the album he said that wasn't why he was there but then he said "I'll say one thing; it is really good!". Can't wait.

first time I've had reason to smile during a cubs game in about 6 weeks.
the song itself was awesome, he really sang it this time. I've seen every one of his appearances and this was the first time he sang the whole thing like a real song.

Couldn't agree more. I like the little poem he wrote.
Anyone watching that game had to appreciate the look he gave the camera before he actually sang but after he said 'We can do this!'
It was that look like 'yeah, when hell freezes over' -- it was awesome. For a Cubs fan who has suffered the past month of just terrible baseball, that summed up my feelings about them doing anything this year!

It was good man, especially the little verse he put together in about 40 seconds. Guess we know why he likes to carry his notebook around now. Interview with Ron and Pat was good too talking about fantasy camp with the 69 team. He did mention Beckert and Hundley were at Sunday's show.

AskPearlJam: PearlJama101-guest says: Who's idea was it for Eddie to play banjo on "Soon Forget"?
Eddie: I don't know whose idea it was but it was turned down.
