    possibly
A child's rhyme stuck in my head...
It said "Life is nothing but a dream."
I've spent so many years in question
To find I'd known this all along.

The Cubs have humiliated themselves and their fan base this year IMO. We shall support Eddie regardless!
There's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.

Don't they do that every year?? Glad I could pay my respects to the Billy Goat and his curse before the Night 2 show.
  • According to Len and Bob's Blog, today's guest conductor is TBD. They have names listed for nearly every other game over the two weeks though.

I am catching a Cubs game on September 11, does that blog get updated for each home stand? That is pretty awesome that they do that.

    Thanks
  • As far as I know it does. It is the only place I have ever been able to find that info before the game.

Some people were seriously offended by that... I thought it was a lot to do about nothing, but some really thought he was trying to push crack on us all!
  • anyone have an extra to tonights game?

Just go to the park - people are DUMPING tickets these days around Wrigley. I am a cubs fan so I'm not just mocking the Cubs -- on a Tuesday night I bet you can get decent seats pretty cheap around the park.

I think it was the sound of the word "peanuts" that contributed to people being offended by his humorous variation. ;)

Yeah, eddie moved the mic away from his mouth during the word crackerjacks. sounded like crack.

The sports talk around here ran with that one for a while.

Comcast Cubs pregame show showed Eddie in the Cubs dugout talking to players about a minute ago. Announcers were "hoping" that he will do 7th inning stretch - still coy at this late stage.

Ed just threw out the 1st pitch. A bit inside to a right-handed batter (if there were one), but it was a pretty strong pitch nonetheless. His family appears to be there as well. Great night for a ballgame.

Someone with DVR record it and post it. I would but since I have the baseball package and Comcast is a piece of shit I dont get the games in HD so the quality would not be great.

And I am watching the Yankees game and as much as I love Pearl Jam I am not going to miss the Yanks to watch Eddie sing "take me out to the ballgame" again

they asked him about backspacer, he said that he is there to visit them (pat and ron) not promote the new record...very cool

Pat mentioned to Ed how Roger Daltrey swings his mic in concert and then heard that Eddie had done the same. Ed's reply was something along the lines of yeah, but not has far as Roger. Pat mentioned one of The Who's classic gigs in Oakland 1976 with the Dead and asked Ed if he's seen them. Ed replied he's seen then 20-30 times. Wonder if he wore a "No Won't Get Fooled Again" t-shirt? j/k

Ron (Santo) asked if he still lived in Seattle. Ed replied that they all did. Ron mentioned the high temperatures in Seattle this summer. Ed replied that he got poison oak this summer. And then the bottom of the 6th ended. Didn't catch the entire inning, but he is coming up on TV in 2 outs.
