How many lefties we have here?

I mean left handed people such as myself.. I read somewhere we are only like 5% of the population.

    I am a righty, but, I do bat lefty (and very well I might add).

    I initially golfed lefty ... but clubs were a bitch to find for a kid so I learned how to golf righty. Granted, I haven't golfed in years.

    Just the oposite for me with the golf thing though. My old man was having no part of me playing left handed so the first 2 years I played, I did the righty thing....Just couldnt pull it off...Better hand/eye with the lefty aspect....Clubs are still a bitch to find though! LOL

    i'm a little strange...

    i can only write with my right hand,use lighters with my right hand.

    i can only open tins with my left,and eat with my left.

    i can swap hands while painting and just about anything else.

    It's not easy being a lefty.

    Statistics show left-handed people are more likely to be schizophrenic, alcoholic, delinquent, dyslexic, and have Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, as well as mental disabilities. They're also more likely to die young and get into accidents. So if evolutionary theory dictates survival of the fittest, why do lefties still exist?

    Left handed here

    When I was in art school about 50% of people in my classes were left handed, now in business school about 5 percent of the people are left handed, but majority of my teachers have been left handed.

    Whatever that means.

    I had a roomate that played guitar lefty, and I asked him if he would teach me (not knowing he was a lefty) and he handed me the guitar and I naturally took it in a lefty stance. So he said, "sure i'll teach you, but you may want to force yourself to learn righty so you can find guitars you like easier."

    I didnt take his advice because I wasnt plannig on taking it seriously, and i didnt have the money to buy a new righty. So here I am a few years later with a band and a shitty lefthanded guitar because I cant find one I like. But I wouldnt change anything as I feel very natural playing lefty.

    My husband is a leftie...but his identical twin is a righty...that surprised me, but I guess it's only partially genetic.

    b/c they are identical twins?
    just curious simply b/c any other sibling relationship, i doubt it would surprise anyone to have only one lefty in the family, especially a smaller family. my immediate family, i am the only leftie out of 3 girls. one of my aunts had 7 children, 2 lefties. but even for identical twins, they are not absolutely identical, and something like handedness, southpaws are definitely quite the minority, so to me...not at all surprising. i think i recall you mentioning what different personalities they have as well....goes hand in hand (pun intended ;))...with their different handedness. :mrgreen:

    i am a proud leftie too. also, i get complimented a LOT on my hand-writing. seriously, a LOT. and i always *love* the back-handed compliment of "oh you have such beautiful handwriting, for a leftie"...... :twisted: hahahaha. is it beautiful, or not? me being leftie doesn't even matter there, no? ;) dolts. :lol:
