The "Argos" are the university of Great Falls. (in Montana) Great Falls is very (few miles) close to where jeff is from. I don't know specifically who the player is but he's wearing a university of Great Falls Argos jersey

I believe the poster and the show tonight was dedicated to him...

    The artist is Jeff Ament...

The player's jersey said Arkos or something
A child's rhyme stuck in my head...
It said "Life is nothing but a dream."
I've spent so many years in question
To find I'd known this all along.

Yes and yes. There's obviously a great deal of meaning here, so a little tact going forward would be nice.

I have a hell of a lot of respect for Jeff. He's an artist in many more ways than one. Jeff put his heart into this one, which makes it all the more special. Yeah it might not be what we're used to or what we expect, but it's got heart. Thumbs up

    Pearl Jam at United Center

The biggest classic-rock fans of the alternative era, Evanston native Eddie Vedder and his band mates in Seattle's Pearl Jam have now been reliably rocking arenas long enough to claim that appellation themselves.

On Sept. 20, the band will release its ninth studio album, "Backspacer," and a radical stylistic departure is unlikely. The big difference is the band is going without a major label for the first time, instead using its Web site as well as iTunes, indie retailers and the Target chain.[/QUOTE]

    is he wrong?

When I saw this poster ther I was damn glad I didn't buy one in advance
  • The first poster from a concert that has deep meaning. Thank you, Jeff!
  • I guess I'm the only one that walked up to the counter loving this poster. I'm sick of the robots and whales and other stuff and was happy to see something that looked different and original for once here. Then I heard the backstory and understood the poster was made for jeffs friend that passed on. Its a great poster, and probably one that has the most meaning for once. He's in the jordan pose too for chicago, very very cool to me. Happy I bought an AP and happy I bought an extra tonight.

It's better than the chicago I 06 poster, and the lollapalooza chicago 07 poster.
"All I Ever Knew" available now in print and digital formats at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and iBooks.
  • when you factor in that it was Jeff's friend..def a Jordan dunk type pose..it's pretty cool..plus if you look the R J & M in Peral jam are a different color than the other letters..R J M are the guy's initials backwards.

sorry for your loss Jeff !

Very sad news. My condolences to anyone reading this impacted by a death way too early. Hopefully creating this helped Jeff grieve. I hope he is coping well. Probably explains why Long Road, Man of the Hour, and Comeback, and Smile were all played.
Sad story. Hopefully the night, poster, and music helped.
  • First time I have ever walked into a show and thought the poster was a complete waste of money...sorry Jeff, but that poster sucks.

Aaaaaand I just read more of the posts after posting and reading about why it was what is was...I look like a huge d head, sorry.
  • My friends and I thought the poster was awesome. We're also Chicago homers, so the quasi-Jordan pose was pretty hilarious. I just liked it because I can seemlessly work that poster into my sports den and throw people off. The Pearl Jam letters on the front resemble the print on the front of the Bulls jerseys too. I could see why others aren't impressed, but I thought it was great. Kudos to the guy that put down $1050 at the preparty for this poster autographed by the band.

I bought 2 of these in the 10C poster pre-sale and also got sucked into purchasing the Ames sub... UGH this thing is UGLY!!! I can respect the meaning, but it is a HORRIBLE poster! I would never frame this BAD boy

What's the night 2 poster look like??

Maybe since it was the guy's birthday it was a one off and we'll get a different one tonight. I'm not a poster collector so I really have no idea though, just get the shows I go to. If it's just a different color scheme, I'll pass on it.

    Jeffs sentiment is beautiful,

but the poster is poor. Its really not up to the usual PJ standard.

The gold one may improve perhaps>? and those who bought in the sub will at least have one signed by jeff.

Those wondering If Jeff will sign the tenclub presale, well thats a certain no

What a moving tribute to a cherished friend. The symbolism in that poster speaks a thousand words.

Could be completely wrong but I think Klausen only did the Manchester and Toronto posters for this first run of shows. Since that is all he has on his site. If I had to guess I would say it will be a variant of this poster, again could be wrong.
