Santos--ignore the haters. There are many people out who more than appreciate all the Ten Club does for them. My wife and I just got back from the Chicago show, and we had a wonderful time sitting nowhere near where we usually do(3 rows up on side stage as opposed to floor), and you know what? We loved it. My wife, who's only 5'0, could see everything for once! Noone in my section complained. Most, in fact, were grateful that we had such a good view as opposed to the back of the floor. So thank you. We had a wonderful time. See you tomorrow!
I've been side stage before, too. Those are some pretty sweet seats. Not everybody can be front row. Sometimes it's nice to be elevated a bit so you can see.
everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do
Right! It's not the end of the world. We could actually see everything perfectly, had a cool group of people around us, etc. The best way to kill the bitching and whining is to thank the Ten Club, show some f-in gratitude for all they do, and the like. I'm sure the people who couldn't make the shows don't wanna hear about anyones crappy seats. You were THERE! Enjoy tonights show!
Look, it's not the ten club's fault. I, too, had the worst seats I've ever had last night (traveling from Boston) but there were two reasons for that 1) the United Center is ENORMOUS. Seriously, that place is like 2 Madison Square Gardens and it's super spread out and 2) there were a TON of ten club members there. Obviously the more ten club members are at a show, the worse your tickets will be. Chicago is in the middle of the country and the show was announced before anyone really knew more U.S. shows would coming- lots of people showed up. What do you propose the ten club do about that? Limit the number of members who get tickets? I'm sure that would go over great. The ten club got you in the building, you paid face value, and you weren't in the nosebleeds. deal.

1. The 10c allways limits the number of members who get tickets. They have a certain allotment of tickets and thats it.
2. People were in the nosebleeds.

I know they limit the tickets, Mr. Specific. Ok, I'll say "limit them more."
Ten club members were on the 3rd level? I highly doubt that. I share two numbers with my brother and I had the bad one last night-279XXX or something like that- and I was in 111. There couldn't have been people on the 3rd level.

I wasn't there but since a ton of people are complaining about their seats being in the nosebleeds I have no doubt that people with 10c tickets were actually seated in the 300s. And even with higher numbers, fanclub members shouldn't get the worst seats in the house, thats just not right and makes the whole seniority thing even worse for the newer members. And yes, I would apreciate it if the 10c would limit their allotment of tickets so that the bad 10c tickets are still decent tickets.

agreed.
if i can't be right up front - and with my # and at a seated gig, outside of the lottery...an impossibility - give me sidestage every time please! i far rather i can SEE.
i DID score pretty sweet 10c floor seats in 2007 in east rutherford, probably 20-25 rows back, but *right* at the start of the second section, so a really big gap for a walkway, thus...a great view! otherwise...yea...i'd be looking at the back of people's heads all night. :P
that said, while the OP may be poorly worded, i am sorry....but i do believe a good #, hell, MANY of you here......would NOT be pleased to get 300 level seats with your 10c memberships. i see a lot of people giving flak, but i don't see too many giving any empathy. yes, there is no need to get angry/absuive/disrespectful about it....but honestly, i think we'd all be at least a wee bit disappointed with 300 level seats, especially when accustomed to far better seats thru 10c...and most especially members with sub200xxx #s being in the 300s. as i've said elsewhere, i am actually kinda glad to read about it all, b/c then i am better prepared for philly. i am never disappointed with my 10c seats as i also don't set unrealistic expectations, but sure, i too would be a wee bit surprised/disappointed with 300 level. yea, i'd get over it and have a GREAT time in any case.....but this is a good place to discuss such issues.
In my case, THANK YOU 10C for the ease of ordering tickets to roughly sixty - five shows in the last 4 years. Thank you for being a means to seeing my favorite band, meeting so many incredible fellow hardcore PJ fans; the salt of the earth ; and seeing five continents . No bitching here. I'm 286xxx and know Philly is a Crapshoot/Comatose at best for someone with my number .
great post!
right there with ya buddy! 257xxx......10.31 will be my 30th pj show! i haven't used my 10c # for all my shows, but probably 95% of em, tho GA in europe - outside of early entry - your actual 10c # don't mean shite. :P i am happy, VERY happy, when i score 10c tix! just knowing i HAVE my tix is great! seeya in philly!
I agree that they have a right to feel disappointed. My problem, and I'm sure this is shared is that...if you have a member # that's really high and are a relatively new member, and you choose to fly/drive to the biggest markets to see the shows, what else do you expect? My # is low, and I knew going into last night my seats would be worse than normal. Same if I choose to hike to Boston, NYC, Philly, or Seattle. It's just what happens. If you don't mind the bad view, go for it. It's your cash and life. If you'd rather be up front, pick a smaller market. Being disappointed is one thing. Being unrealisitic is another. Like you said, you can be disappointed without being disrespectful. Ten Club does too much for us as it is.
Off to the pre party and show! Say hi if you're there.

Yes there were. I am 342xxx and I was in section 332 surrounded by Ten club members. I was on the side of the stage, so high and so far to the side that I couldn't even see the screen.

well stated.
realistic expectations are always wise....and less apt for disappointment.
also, there are ways of expressing your disappointment and dis-satisifaction in a way that is respectful and open for serious consideration and discussion, and other ways that are just rude and your message gets lost. it's not just what you say...but how you say it...;)
What the fuck do you expect when you joined the fan club in the past year or two? Front row center? 5th row side? I mean seriously. Some of us have been in the 10 club for well over a decade and like to travel to watch who we consider to be the best band in the world. Pearl Jam appreciates that and offers us a chance for better seats as we pay in to the 10c, and have for a very long time. That's how seniority works!
I'm starting to think that the majority of these bitchy strings are coming from those that have only been in the 10 club for few years and have higher expectations than what is a reality. Either resign yourself to not getting the premiere seats till you've been here a while or go fuck yourself. I'm tired of these grumpy strings as I prepare to head out on Thursday for weeks of enjoyment. I'd rather come on here throughout the day and read posts about how awesome they were last night or how great the latest released song sounds.

I had great tickets for the Rotterdam show! I am really happy with the pre ticket sales!
Great service!

Could have been somethin,

It said "Life is nothing but a dream."
I've spent so many years in question
To find I'd known this all along.
