  • definitely count me in for the pre-party Thursday!!

I live in the city, so I'll go check out the area by where they are playing in GG Park and come up with some suggestions for the post-party!

Thanks for looking out for a post-party venue. The only place that I've seen so far (via yelp) is an Irish bar, Durty Nelly's, on Irving and 24th.

I'm in for sure! I won't be drinking much during the day due to not wanting to trek to the bathroom through 30,000 people when PJ is on...but afterwards is a different story.

I hope we can get this together...I'm not to sure what's around that area. What about the Buena Vista?

I too won't be doing in drinking during the festival either for the same reason.

    Where is the Buena Vista?

  • We are getting ready to head down on Tuesday-
for those outside Northern Ca, bring warm clothes, cause I hear it can be pretty chilly.

( I also saw that since the Outsidelands festival is " sustainable" bringing your own waterbottles, old cell phones for recycling etc, will get you points for giveaway contests)

If we could have some sort of meet up Wednesday as well would be great- Thursday my husband and I are going to Club Fugazi to celebrate the anniversary of when we met at a beach in Seattle. ( probably before some of you were born ;) )

The bands I am planning to see besides PJ are Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears, Blind Pilot and if I don't get distracted , Zee Avi & Tom Jones.

I saw Dirty Frank, after Eddies show in Santa Barbara last year, they were awesome, any idea of anything similar for San Francisco?

I would be up for something on Wednesday except for the fact that I have a work related seminar that evening in Burlingame (mid-Peninsula). I'll post a Wednesday get together, if others are interested too.

Unfortunately Tom Jones will be on just before Pearl Jam at different stage. I wanted to see him at least once. Just to say that I have seen him. 8-)

  • Hey I found something to do Wednesday-
    I don't surf but I know someone who does ;) .
I also am a volunteer steward with People for Puget Puget Sound in Wa & am a big believer in giving back.
Wet Wednesday: August 26 at 8 PM at The Riptide: on Wednesday night, August 26, join us to celebrate Outside Lands with a kick-off party and fundraiser. We will raffle a custom 6'0" surfboard by Las Olas, tickets to Outside Lands, and a Billabong B9 recycled wetsuit!

    It sounds like fun.

It doesn't look too far from GG Park ....http://www.thebuenavista.com/directions.html

it's a famous and classy place. Sort of an old school classy dive.

It looks like a nice place, but it's a very, very long walk from GGP. Up and down a few different hills. The best way to get there would probably be by taxi.

  • Count me in +2 for Thursday, pre PJ. I'll keep an eye on this post in case the time and/or place changes. Really looking forward to Friday!

Looks good. ~1mile away from the polo fields (Lands End stage). Should be walkable. It looks like it is far enough away to avoid post festival crowds, but not too far to walk. I think the following review from Yelp has made me give it a definite thumbs up along with many others that were similar:
"Apparently im pretty good at ping pong. Or maybe i was so inebriated at the time im tricking myself into believing i am. No no, i really am. Know what else im good at? Rock em sock em robots, also inebriated. *takes a bow* (yes they have it!) That brought me back to my childhood.

Cool neighborhood bar. Interesting mix of people. Outdoor patio where you can drink, sit, smoke, talk, and play ping pong. I hear the food is good too. Inside, more drinking, play pool or shuffleboard. One of the guys working that night was quite a character. I think he was a tiny bit inebriated as well. I was highly entertained by him running around like a chicken with his head cutoff, and also the older man teetering on the edge of his bar stool like he was going to tip over face first. He wasn't moving or blinking. Oddly, i couldn't look away. Also, very good tunes playing on the jukebox that night.

    PS: lobster bibs rule. end."

    I'll pencil it in.

count me in for the afterparty! I might make it for the Thurs meetup as well. can't wait!!
  • Tee Off Bar sounds great! Good find! =)

It should only take about 15-20 mins to walk from the park, so not bad at all. It still hasn't hit me that Pearl Jam will be playing in a couple of days... yay!

    Better warn Paulie and Crystal...

Seriously though, this place is great. The post above is my roommate. We've got 4 ten clubbers that could host a real late after party (ie after the Tee Off) if everyone's real excited...

And yeah, pretty much anything goes at the Tee off.

This is great! I just had two kick-ass shows in Chi-town and can't wait to meet with y'all and celebrate Pearl Jam coming back to GG Park! Count me in for all of these gatherings. I might need a place to stay after the after-party :)

I probably won't make the pre-party but I really want to come to the after-party!

Still figuring out what time to get there on Friday--is the 5am plan out?
  • I'll be at the pre-party on Thursday.
  • I saw them in Chicago both nights. It was so cool. Great show! I can't wait to see them again in SF.

I'm just hoping that the Chicago shows were just a "warm-up" for Outside Lands Festival. :D

You and SOLAT319 and the other who were at Chicago will have to tell us all about your great time in Chi town. Such as how great it was to hear HTI as an opener or your noses are still bleeding due to where you were sitting. ;)
