i guess some might prefer the Barney Frank approach and just scream at and make fun of her but while Jon does make jokes he is more respectful and calm towards her

first, i don't understand why she would be upset about them TALKING to the patient about what they would want. as someone else already pointed out this would've come in handy with people like Terri Schivao (sp)

where does she get that they will be penalized? because they get an incentive if they give this consulation? if a company gives an award for top sales or something is the other 99% being penalized?

i still don't understand where she is getting care for seniors would be cut back?

Exactly... you and Blondie have it right... she is a newsmaker and could not back up her claims with facts.
That is why I posted the link to the actual Bill that Congress will be voting on. Look at it yourself and see if you can find 'death Panels', mandatory consultations and penalties for doctors in the bill. You won't... because it is simply, not there.
That is the fact that the Daily Show so clearly points out.

I mean that’s why I posted it on here. I thought it was great Jon stayed unbasis and tried to give Betsy the benefit of the doubt. I was impressed that even without the help of a basis stance Betsy fell on her face.

And I’m not surprised that even when the facts are in front on people’s faces, some will deny and use excuses not to believe the facts.

Are they trying to guess where Obama/congress is going to pay for a new healthcare plan? And they’re guessing senior care would be cut?

The tragic irony of all of this is 'The Daily Show' often times adheres to journalistic practice more than the shows they parody.
The Bill O'Rielly Show would truely be a 'No Spin Zone' if it were acutally 'Fair and Balanced'. It isn't. There is no journalism is shouting down your opponents with your own opinions... he needs to back his points with facts. The Facts presented by O'Rielly are typically things he has read, but not verified, such as the 'Death Panels'. Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter and Glenn beck are cartoonish characitures of right-wing reactionaries that seek a career in books and broadcasting.
And even so-called mainstream newsrooms are a joke... Michael Jackson, Anna-Nicole Smith and the latest pretty young blonde murder victim are plastered over the real issues that face our nation... because Michael Jackson means ratings, House Resolution Bills do not.
I think it is sad commentary on what we have become... and it's our own fault. We'd much prefer a good five hour car chase than a C-SPAN debate on a Senate bill that will personally affect each and every one of us.

I'll tell you.. Watching that interview was painful. She came across like some crazy cat lady insisting that the government was talking to her through the TV.

Jon Stewart gave her more than enough rope and she hung herself on camera.

Oh... not sure if it's been mentioned in this thread but she was fired the next day.
