Cincy played the toughest schedule of all the #2's (Texas, TCU, BSU) by far, and only had one close call against a very good Pitt team. As Pitt and 'Bama showed yesterday they wouldn't matchup well with Alabama's run game, but I'm pretty sure they are going up against Florida in the Sugar Bowl, and that's a game where they definitely matchup. What everyone forgets in their SEC fellating is that, outside of Jevan Snead (who was disappointing), and Ryan Mallett (who played on a 7-5 Arkansas team), they have no NFL bound QBs, so when they face a good one in bowl games they often get beaten. I don't think I'm stretching to say that Tony Pike would have started for any SEC team this year, besides the god squad, and that's just cuz you can't sit god. BTW I am a fan of the U, so I have no dog in this fight, just observing.

georgia tech won the acc man... clemson isn't going to a bcs game. espn says florida v cinci, ga tech v iowa, and boise v tcu. not a bad round of games either way. personally, i'd like to see cinci and boise play... they're the ones everyone loves to forget, but they're both so explosive it'd be a lot of fun to watch. cos i couldnt care less about seeing ga tech...

alot of uninteresting games in the BCS this year

Beyond the BCS bowl, Rose and whoever FL plays, i don't much care for the other 2 games.

i'm dissapointed in the two "mid majors" playing each other. heck, they just played last year in a bowl.

i kinda wish boise, cinci, and tcu were up against florida, ga tech, and iowa. give the little guys a shot to show they can play with the bigs!

i woulda like to seen tcu vs iowa but boise state vs tcu isn't that bad.

This is the best example of what a joke the BCS system is. Everyone wanted to see these teams play the big boys, TCU should be playing Florida, And Boise playing Cinci or Georgia Tech. It will be a fun game, but both schools should feel a little let down. And the questions will keep up next year when we have 1 or 2 more mid majors undefeated.

i sorta understand what they were going for, but given that it's a rematch and it doesn't give anybody a chance to prove anything, it's a huge disappointment. i'd have liked to see tcu v florida (best teams not in the title game), boise v iowa (see how the wac plays against a real defense from a major conference), and cinci v ga tech (find out which of these supposed AQ conferences is for real).

Yeah, while I think the Fiesta bowl will be fun to watch, I just think it could have been better. I agree with the matchups you posted.
Anyways, I'm also bitter that I can't see Iowa play in AZ!

It'll be interesting to see how GA Tech's option game does against a strong and stingy defense. Though, since the Big Ten doesn't have a real "option team", it could be ugly... Hope not!

There was a Dan Patrick interview with the head of the BCS in a recent Sports Illustrated. The guy's reasons why a playoff wasn't needed/wanted/possible were 100% BULLSHIT! :think:
