Can any of you good people tell me a little about Mobile, AL?

I'm headed there for a week of work & need some suggestions for leisure spots.

Kings of Leon & Band of Horses are playing in nearby Orange Beach, so I might take that on next Tuesday:

    Fire away, Gulf Coast aficionados.

    .

I spent a month or so in Mobile last year for work... there ain't much to do. I mostly spent my time in the gym or at the fabrication yard...

Be careful where you wander... there are some very dangerous areas around Mobile...

and whatever you do, don't go chasing after leprachauns....

Thanks for that. I just checked-in & the hotel desk worker started telling me about other near-by cities. I knew then and there that Mobile doesn't have much to offer.

The baseball team is, in fact, home this weekend. And that Kings of Leon / Band of Horses double-dip on Tuesday is looking better and better.

Maybe I'll be able to find some local flavor in between. But if not, there's the beaches...

    Greetings from Alabama, y'all.

I'm not sure if we jumped the shark when I posted a GnR song, or if it was the Phish song, but it certainly jumped by the time we got "My Humps" up here. ... anyhow.

My Humps was a joke... I was just tooling around. How the hell did you guys leave that in there? haha

I definitely second "I See Red" - the version Ed did with Betchadupa on the Neil Finn St. James DVD is great. To add to Midnight Rambler... I'd be curious to hear what Pearl Jam covering "Gimme Shelter" would sound like.
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.
