    There’s a lot going on there. Pistachio pesto, hot pepper relish, dried herbs, and their “hoagie sauce” which is the mayo looking part. It was also supposed to have onions and arugula but I opted out of those. 
    Arugula is a no-go....but keep those onions in there man.

    Pistachio spread on focaccia with mortadella has been very popular here in NYC.  A shop from florence made it popular. Never tried it though.

    I like onions. Are they not a cheesesteak staple? I like them on cold sammies as well. Probably not with mortadella. And agree I prefer my steak chopped up.

    I like a steak and cheese sub with lettuce, tomato, pickles, grilled onions, and ketchup. I also like the steak to be a thicker slice - not the Steak-Ums style.

    According to the Italian Market I purchased hoagies from as a kid, lettuce has no business being on an Italian hoagie. Lettuce is just a filler added to skimp out on the cold cuts.

    I don't like onions but for some reason I don't mind a very little on my Hoagie.

    I do NOT have onions on ANY other food, especially cheesesteaks as the flavor is too strong for my taste buds. 

    A cheesesteak should be just that: Cheese and steak.

    I went to college in upstate NY. There was a greek run sandwich shop near campus that made amazing sandwiches. They did the mayo, raw onions, lettuce, tomato, salt and pepper, and a toasted roll for a cheesesteak. May not be an authentic Philly, but it was really good.
