here is my rundown of the three properties:
the radisson is located in a great part of the city. its fun, has lots of restaurants to get good food cheap, dunc/star/wawa to get convenience and great expensive food. greatGREAT nightlife spot. rittenhouse square is a beacon of peace in the middle of the city...although i did see a rat scurry thru last friday night, but nobody seemed to care (it was rather large by rat standards).
the location is about 2 blocks away from broad street where the broad street subway runs directly down to the spectrum. no driving required.
the broad street line is safe although not pretty. it lets you off at the spectrum steps. please dont wear a dallas or giants jersey at night on the subway...or really anywhere at night in town. it is football season . also, you can take the train from the airport into the city and then hop on the broadstreet line, get off at walnut and you are only a few easy blocks away.
the omni is located in old city. this is closest to the constitution center, independence hall and the other historic stuff. independence park is beautiful - perfect place for a picnic on a nice day and stretches about 8 or so blocks with historic buidlings and little gardens that you can tour and explore. not as much of a night life as the radisson, but some kicking spots and of course great food - although not as plentiful as the other two locations.
not sure about the public transportation. the hotel is on 4th, the broad street line runs on broad street (which is 14th). you can hop a cab very easy and they arent too expensive (about 10 at the most to get to the spectrum).
embassy suites - this is located on logan circle, closest to the museums. the area about 3 blocks north of the hotel has a fun nightlife scene with good food and bars....although i wouldnt venture 5 blocks north. this hotel is also closest (10 or so blocks - down 8, up 2)) from eastern state penetentary - which has been on ghost hunters. nice, scary tours going on around that time. one block you are looking at museums and rowhomes and the next is this huge, scary, stone, victorian prison.
its about a 5-6 block walk to the broad street subway.
they are all in safe areas. the 75 rate for the radisson looks like an excellent deal.
hope this is helpful!Post edited by groovN onpicture an empty cup in the middle of the sea0 -

That's a picture from the booklet for Animal Collective's Merriweather Post Pavilion. They are an amazing band and that is their newest album. I'm seeing them Friday even though their live act is nowhere near as good as their studio work.severed hand thirteen2006: Gorge 7/23 2008: Hartford 6/27 Beacon 7/1 2009: Spectrum 10/30-31

Cool! The first time I heard about the band was their remix of Yeah Yeah Yeah's Zero. I got it free with the Special Edition CD release. It's pretty cool. Have a great time @ the show this Friday!0 -

I was able to book it immediately when the e-mail was sent out. However, I think the quota of double rooms for this special rate was filled up pretty quickly. They couldn't have had many available. In another thread someone said they called the hotel and were told the same thing -- that they only had king rooms left for the Pearl Jam rate.0 -
-Q- wrote:i just tried priceline and got the Embassy Suites Hotel Philadelphia-Center City for $55 a night. the 28th thru 1st (i can't go to the 27th show) it took my first bid @ 55 it's a 3 star hotel
This is very tempting considering the excellent price and the fact that you get two rooms! That's an awesome deal. I'm torn whether to do this or not. I like the Radisson because it definitely seems like it is the Pearl Jam hotel for the weekend, plus the rate is cancellable if anything comes up last minute. However, the extra space would be nice, and it's even cheaper than this excellent Radisson rate. Of course, the risk is that I wouldn't get the Embassy Suites, and I could be stuck at a different hotel in a worse location. I'll sleep on it...0 -

After pm's & stuff, it's best to start a fresh rollcall thread. I give the task to you, if you like!0 -

I'm in from the 28th thru check out on november 1st.
Will get the 27th also, once the ten club gets it approved and on to the radison website.
So i will be there booked from the 27th thru the 1st. King Size Select Comfort Bed.
5 nights in this PJ hotel will rock!!!! Thank You 10Club for doing this for us!0 -
I booked this motherfucker via priceline..then a few minutes later received the email from the ten club..lol....anyway, see you fuckers there..'I want to hurry home to you
put on a slow, dumb show for you
and crack you up
so you can put a blue ribbon on my brain
god I'm very, very frightening
and I'll overdo it'0 -
I really hope the add 10.27 that is a great rate.
Some of state this was an official PJ email, is this true?
For I never received it, only found it here.0 -
Thank you 10club!0

I booked for the 27th through the 31st as I can easily make the drive home after the Saturday show. It's a pretty easy drive, but I just didn't want to make it 4 times that week. I got a bad rate for the 27th, but I booked anyway. If 10C doesn't secure a rate, I'll probably drop that night, but if they do, I'm already booked and can have my rate adjusted.
I'll see you in Philly my friends for an epic run of shows....
Thanks 10C!0 -
Booked mine for the 30th and 31st online, no problem. Had to select King Bed to get availability though...think the doubles might be gone for those dates. But I'll just live it up KING SIZE SLEEP NUMBER style for two days, y'all. Pillow fight, anyone?0
