    Muse? Gaslight Anthem?

Sometimes its very helpful to know what other people see as current good music so I can ignore future comments. Not completely trying to be a jerk, but come'on Muse!? Gaslight Anthem!?

And what do you listen to, oh final arbiter of all good music whose tastes are unquestionable? No need to try when it comes so naturally.
If only for every two people on here we had one mediator who was effective..

PSA: There are other bands out there besides Pearl Jam. Also, people have different opinions on certain types of music.

I hear ya (I like plenty of other music) but I would not trust the musical opinion of anyone who puts bands like Muse and Gaslight Anthem in the same ballpark as pearl jam. Therefore, I don't value your opinion on Supersonic. Just the way it is.

so you think pearl jam is better...no reason to stomp on muse. they are an incredibly talented band who put on unparalleled live performances.

Unparalleled? If I recall correctly, you refuse to go see Phish play.. maybe you should give them a chance before you use the word 'unparalleled'.

You know - that's what I said before I was dragged along to a show with some friends. Walked in there with a frown on my face, grumpy, determined to hate every moment of it, with my arms cross, so that I'd walk out of there and say "don't you dare put that crap on in front of me again!". How wrong I was. This is a live band. Their lyrics are crap, their vocals are crap, but their shows are brilliant.

Keep the FUN songs coming please!!!!
  • brilliant. again very upbeat and fun. well pleased.
...Pearl Jam, a group filled with pride, passion, and intricate musicianship. Their music is full of subtle textures, rich color, soul-searching power, imagery, and eerie dissonance.

I don't get the "bubblegum pop" comment. Have you actually heard any bubblegum pop?

    Opinions sure can be jarring.

Considering I'm nineteen, live at home, and have three social younger siblings, yes, I've heard much bubblegum pop. Though I wish I hadn't! In any case, I did say that I'm going to reserve judgment for the whole song, and if it's anything like the Fixer, it will be something acquired for me.

It's just a short, fun hard rock song. There's always a couple on every album.

Would you consider the Ramones, Buzzcocks, or Social Distortion "bubble gum" pop??? Because to me thats what this sounds like, and it kicks ass!

You're only 19.. my musical tastes were skewed at that age.. don't mix happy and upbeat with crap.
