HA! THAT'S IT! It kept reminding me of something but I had a mental block. Then it dawned on me...
It's a punked up "Old time rock n roll" ~Bob Segar, as if the Ramones were covering it.
What do you think?
Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river
I don't get the "bubblegum pop" comment. Have you actually heard any bubblegum pop?
Opinions sure can be jarring.
Considering I'm nineteen, live at home, and have three social younger siblings, yes, I've heard much bubblegum pop. Though I wish I hadn't! In any case, I did say that I'm going to reserve judgment for the whole song, and if it's anything like the Fixer, it will be something acquired for me.
Would you consider the Ramones, Buzzcocks, or Social Distortion "bubble gum" pop??? Because to me thats what this sounds like, and it kicks ass!
You're only 19.. my musical tastes were skewed at that age.. don't mix happy and upbeat with crap.
Frankly, to me, I don't hear the Ramones or Social Distortion in the overall sound... sure, maybe the guitar's crunch is similar, but that's about it. As for the Buzzcocks, I'm not a fan, and haven't listened to more than three songs (if that). You're welcome to think it kicks ass - just as I'm entitled to think that, from what I've heard, I don't like it! I'm really really hoping that when I hear it in the context of the full song, something clicks and it works. Not to mention, please don't insult my tastes because of my age - I listen to what I choose to listen to, including a lot of happy, upbeat music. I live for music, have attended many concerts for my age (my fiftieth concert will be the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame show at Madison Square Garden with my dad), and I still don't like what I've heard of this. I'm sincerely happy you like it, and hope that when I receive my Fixer single, flip it over, and drop it on my record player, I'll share the sentiment about this one!

Yeah I been dreaming of getting along
Now I'm awake, dreaming keep it on, keeping on
I catch a break, then a punch to the head
I smile big with a toothless grin
Supersonic gone & took my soul
I caught the rhythm, but the clock was slow yeh
Supersonic truth be told
I don't need you to live, but I'll never let you go
Yeh I been thinking, I already know
Nothing bout nothing, or so I have been told yeh
I'm not like the paper, I'm more like the fold
Cut the crease and put the shit in the whole yeh
Supersonic gone & took my soul
I caught the rhythm, but the clock was slow yeh
Supersonic truth be told
I don't need you to live, but I'll never let you go
What's with the Muse hate? I think their new stuff sounds great, and I'm really looking forward to hearing Exogenesis.
As for Supersonic, sounds like a pretty fun song. Kinda funny how completely different it is from Speed of Sound.

Looks like the same hair in both. Is that Stone singing then, in Young Einstein?

Totally agree, mfc. It def has a very Ramones-ish vibe; I think it sounds awesome!
