Haven't yet got the bazooka tube from Brad Klausen on his sweet donation! :) It's a surprise. Though i'm guessing the poster sizes would be 18x24. Just need something like how we did Ed's signed Solo poster last August. This kind of poster board:

ps, I was moving around the chair's & lemon-aid got spilled on me. Why I was wet!

It's about a 25-minute walk. There's a pathway along the lake that you can take.

Any suggestions on travel from the airport to the Delta Chelsa???
    Taxi,shuttle,train?

A taxi from Pearson (which is in the northwest end of the city) will run you about $60 to get downtown. Since the show is on a Friday, there will be a lot of traffic coming in to town from about 3pm onwards.

There are a bunch of shuttles busses that go around to the different downtown hotels. A one-way ticket is just under $20. This trip can be quite long, especially if the bus is packed. Last time I checked, the Delta Chelsea didn't have a free shuttle service, but you may be able to catch a ride on one of the other hotel's shuttles.

When I flew in and stayed Downtown, I preferred to take the TTC - Public Transit. From the airport, there is a direct bus - route 192 - that goes to Kipling subway station. It takes less than 15 minutes to get there since it doesn't make many stops along the way. From there, you can take the Bloor line east and transfer to the Yonge line at the Yonge station. The Delta Chelsea is near Dundas Station. In all, the trip takes about 40-45 minutes and only costs $2.75.

Right on...Thanks for the info. I appreciate it....squid

Hello I'm staying at the same hotel. I'll be flying in from CT.-Chicago-Toronto
Are you flying in if so into Pearson?
Maybe we can split cost of transportantion......I'll be comming to the show solo and splitting cost would be a huge help.

Ok that hotel is NOT walking distance to the Amphitheatre at all. You have 2 options...1)you can take the Subway south to Union station..then go upstairs and take the streetcar (the 509) and get off at Straghan (pronounced Strawn) if your tickets are through 10C. Walk towards the lake then make a right and follow the lake to the Amphitheatre.

If your tix are from ticketmaster you can take the streetcar into the CNE and show your tickets to the person at the entrance and they will let you in. Walk towards the lake..through all the maze of rides and games and you'll eventually get to one of the bridges to the Amphitheatre.

    HOWEVER

Since you are from out of town and not familiar with the layout of the area I strongly advise you to take a cab to the show. It will be faster and less aggravation.

I agree with this 100%. It's not a dangerous walk (Toronto downtown isn't dangerous in the slightest), it's just far, and can be a bit confusing once you get down to the lakefront area (Queen's Quay, Lakeshore Blvd.) if you don't know where you're going.

Its not that long of a walk, maybee 1/2 hour -40 minutes. and its a nice walk on a beutiful summer day. Either walk down to the lake, and walk along the waterfront path to the ampetheatre, or walk west along Queen or King St. to Strachan and walk south to the lake, then west to the ampetheatre.

Traffic and transit is going to be a clusterfuck! Especially after the show. /i will be walking to and from, any able bodied person can walk to the ampetheatre from downtown.
This sidewalk is for regular walking, not for fancy walking!

Like I said earlier, I definitely think that a walk is feasible. Just tonight, I walked from the Molson Amphitheatre to Union Station in about 30 minutes. It's pretty simple if you just take Lakeshore all the way like I did.

Just a bit of a warning based on tonight's experience. Although everything but the 300's and the lawn are covered, (if there's enough of a strorm as there was tonight) every single seat will be soaked. I was standing on the rail in the pit and was drenched before the show was eventually cancelled due to the weather - so much for the "show goes rain or shine" as printed on the tickets!!

I'm staying at the Intercontinental Yorkville....booked on Hotwire. Anyone know anything about it? I know the area is pretty ritzy, but whatever. We are actually going to be staying from the 20th to the 24th, so we will spend a lot of time exploring the other areas of the city.
Never been to Toronto before, but used to live in NYC so I'm looking forward to seeing what a clean metropolitan city looks like! :D

haha yeah, I was following the news stories on that really closely just praying it would end. I lived in NYC during the subway strike, and since I lived in an outer borough it was hell to get to school in Manhattan. God bless the unions! :) J/K.

How is Yorkville in general, though? Know much about anything non-ritzy to do around those parts? Or will be better to venture further afield for bars, etc.

The Intercontinental is probably the border between Yorkville (the ritzy area) and the U of T area. Walk east on Bloor and you'll walk by designer shops until Yonge. If you take Yonge south it gets a little grimier until College but still an interesting people-watching walk.
If you go west on Bloor when you leave the hotel there's lots of bars and restaurants with mostly U of T students... and Sonic Boom, which is one of the best cd/record stores in the city!
If you want to check out Yorkville there are a couple of bars that are frequented by what this board would label "fratboys." Hemmingway's (the better of the two) and Remy's. Also, one of my favourite Italian retaurants, Nervosa is in Yorkville and you should probably try Summer's Ice Cream, I reccomend the strawberry banana frozen yogurt.
