i suspect indefinately isnt in ryans vocab when it comes to music. unless he starts churning out prose and poetry at a phenomenal rate(and even then his fingers have got to get itchy. hes been at it too long to stop cold imho) i reckon itll be sooner or later well hear something from him.

Pre-orders of the new book have started to arrive, and apparently include a surprise 45 single. No idea what's on it but I should find out soon.
Apparently he's been jamming out some acoustic tunes with some guys in LA. Nothing immediate planned though, as far as anyone knows.
Using the word "methinks" in your message board posts doesn't make you look smart.

    Hearbreaker, awesome...

Ryan Adams is just the shit...it's a shame he has taken an indefinite hiatus...:cry::cry:

Yeah frankly it's hard to pick a fav, but if i did..i would go with Cold Roses and Gold. Well maybe he will come back with his best album ever..lol
These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.

The man is great. My favourites are Jacksonville City Nights, or Heartbreaker. Demolition is also great (both editions), and I love 29.

Go here.....it is all you need Ryan Adams!

He may be my favorite artist ever. I think there is a torrent on this site for the Elton John/Ryan Adams sessions from 2002. Great stuff...

Yes i think you are right Love is Hell is probably the next step. Although i do have quite the fondness for Easy Tiger that many others don't always share.

Just remember once you make your way through his catalogue you still have about 4 whiskeytown albums to listen too :D

  • I'd say Jacksonville City Nights if you really enjoy Cold Roses. If you lean more towards Gold and Heartbreaker I'd suggest Demolition of Love is Hell

I would grab Love is Hell and then grab Jacksonville City Nights.. For some fans JCN is way too country, but its a really great album! Wait, I forgot about 29! Go get that one.......
  • I LOVE Love Is Hell.

29 is probably the one that took longest to grow on me, but...wow....once it clicks you wonder how you could ever have thought it was anything other than utter genius. It also has my favourite song of his - 'Strawberry Wine'. Such a great 'story' song - I'd love to hear Ed tackle that one sometime. Hmmm...wonder if he's a fan.

if you can make it the deluxe reissue. it includes 5 live in the studio radio performances(sept 97) plus an extra disc of 21 additional tracks and the barns on fire sessions, all but 2 of which are previously unreleased. theres a very nice version of fleetwood macs dreams.

indian gown and barns on fire are fast finding themselves on my RA faves list.

He's sorta like Jack White in the sense of you just don't think it can get better, then it does.

Love Is Hell is one of the most depressing albums ever. Shadowlands, Avalanche, World War 24....
Hotel Chelsea Nights is a great closer, that really sounds like Purple Rain. Did anyone notice the similarities?
