I was in Montreal summer of '07. Went to see Tool @ the Bell Centre. That same hour, Bad Religion were playing just a few blocks down the street. '08, they played here @ the Halifax Forum, and again, couldn't make. Guess I'll just keep listening to their live bootlegs ...

I just checked out a bit of Ted Leo & the Pharmacists on Youtube, and while I wasn't impressed with them at the MSG shows last year, I'll be giving these guys another chance in Toronto 100%. I like their album sound, and am hoping they have been working on their 'big venue' sound they produce, as it wasn't adequate last time around.

Exactly - with this and the preposter sale, I'll have some extra time to ride the Cyclone.

+1. I always try and make it for the opening band - these guys are being given an awesome opportunity, I may as well do my part to not leave them feeling deflated and playing to a half-full, no-energy crowd.

  • Quite awesome. My girlfriend and I are going as her college graduation present to the 8/23 Chicago show. She actually got me into Bad Religion and we both love them. Let's go, Chicago!!!

Ted Leo + the Pharmacists to open the August 21 Toronto show at the Molson Amphitheatre. Supporting Pearl Jam for both United Center shows in Chicago on August 23 and 24 will be Bad Religion.

Somehow, methinks you are a bit full of it. Neither website mention nothing at all about this.

Pearl Jams home page and the sticky up top confirmed this for me

I really disliked Ted Leo before the show in D.C. last year. And I've generally found redeeming qualities in almost every opening band I've seen, though I didn't like the guy who opened in Pittsburgh before the 2006 show
robert pollard haha, that was by far the worst musical (if you can call it that) performance i have ever seen

Geez, I liked Robert Pollard and listen to alot of GBV. Oh well, at least we agree on the headliner!!

    :D
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
slide in sideways, BBQ sandwich in one hand, cold beer in the other,
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "Woo Hoo what a
    ride"!

I hope I don't decide to go to the Ex instead... I'll need to stay seated the entire show after I get through with Tiny Tim's donuts.

Was just thinking that :) No need to rush to the venue now as PJ won't hit the stage until at least 8:30 . . .
