this has been happening with a lot of concerts lately...I've taken advantage of it myself...I saw Velvet Revolver for like $15 b/c some kid put a flyer in my mailbox the day of the show with a password for a cheapie sale....
I know why people would feel pissed, but redrock is right...
Besides...the more the merrier. I remember wondering how many people at that VR show bought tickets that day...it was just over half full in Rexall..the crowd makes a difference for the show too...if it takes cheap tix to get bums in the seats, so be it....
and yes, the lineup blows....not surprising that casual fans don't want to go. plus, this has been a bigger than average year for festivals in AB, and with AC/DC and Aerosmith both playing HUGELY overpriced stadium gigs here this summer, which were announced long ago....lots of competition for the concert $.
I honestly think the fact that PJ is playing the show has more to do with not haulin much gear, warming up for the other shows, and maybe hanging with KOL in the mountains for a while or something. (KOL comes thru AB the week after Vfest).
i'm really happy that they did this, why wouldn't yolu be happy that other can go now at cheaper price, not many can afford todays pearl jam concert prices and now some younger or new fans can check them out without thaking out a loan!
It really helps for people coming from out of town, that's about 1/2 the gas money we are saving.
Ten club is great, but it's great that they save me money this year, b/c some years all you get is a record and the cool newletters, which sometime i don't read :(
With PJ is all about the live show and the outdoor venues is going to be the best
don't cry in your soup b/c you bought tickets already, people who waited had the worry that it would sell out
4 of us coming from Manitoba it's going to be the best and Saturday's bands are GREAT
