shipping prices?!?!?
You know, I hope I am not the only one who thinks that the shipping prices are bit high, especially if you order multiple items.
I ordered 2 singles and was charged $8 (2 x $4) for the 2 singles, can't they really combine them in the same package and charge $5?
If you buy 3 lps, the cost is $30 ($10 x 3)
Or if you order 2 of the same posters, can't they really put them in the same tube and charge $7.50 only 1x?
The band should stand behind what they say about wanting the lowest cost for their fans.

everyone needs to take a step back and look at the big picture and not just their own perspective of the situation. ask yourself WHY they are doing something. if you can come up with a logical answer, then there is no sense in complaining about it.

What if there is no logical answer? Like i posted before last year i bought a couple lighters and shirts bill was around $200 shipping was around $35, ok if figured until i got everything in the same package and the total shipping on it was about $9 i believe, what's with that?
how do they know at the time you are placing your order that all those items combined will cost $9? and they cant say "hang on while we package that up and calculate shipping." also, the postage cost $9, but that doesnt include "handling," which is the material cost and the cost of labor, which someone has to pay for (guess who?).
10C is a business and operates as such more and more every year. it's no different than Amazon or Best Buy. they are working on being faster and more efficient in shipping, and guess who bears the cost? the customer.
I am by no means always defending the 10C (see my thoughts on how tour dates have been announced the last 4 years), but in this case, I see why they are doing things the way they are, and I think those complaining are only thinking of their own situation and not the big picture.

I'll speak on behalf of the posters ... thinking of this from an administrative standpoint ...
To roll posters and put them in tubes separated by show, then print off all the labels, attach and send ... pretty easy.
Now, think about the headache it would be to combine orders (note, they are selling hundreds of posters per show), customize each tube that's going out the door ... mass confusion for a small group of folks putting orders together. Also, they sell posters for different shows at different times, and they might receive posters for different shows at different times. Finally, putting more than one print in these tubes increases the chances for damage ... thus increasing the chance for complaints.
For the record, $7.50 shipping in the US is a pretty good price for shipping a poster, and the 10c has a pretty good record for delivering them in good shape.

Logistically it makes perfect sense. Fomr a sustainability standpoint, it's not good at all. But, apparently the logistic nightmare beat out sustainability, and sometimes, that's ok.
In the 90s... shirts, stickers, hats..the prices all included shipping. and those prices were cheap to begin with.
But, like someone below said, if the shipping is too high, I guess I just didn't want it bad enough.

Look, poster tubes cost 3-5 bucks on their own, and shipping costs 5-6 per tube, depending on distance. 7.50 for each is very reasonable. Especially since I dont have to lug it around at a show, protecting it like it was the original Declaration of Independence.
7.50 for shipping, convenience, protected from the concert....thats a bargain.
As far as sustainablility, gimme a break.....the US postal service comes to your house everyday anyway.

Luckily my love for PJ is a little higher and I can deal with the eccentricities of the web site.
Priority mail 1lb is $4.80 everywhere and poster tubes in bulk are probably $1.50-$2 tops. so that's $6.80... add in 70 cents for handling/paper to roll the posters in and its a VERY good deal.
Shipping on the other stuff is more expensive which I think is partly a result of calculating on order total as opposed to item weight. I don't know how easy/hard that is to program into the website, but that certainly would make things a little more 'fair' when calculating shipping costs.
Again, not complaining. I am spoiled by free shipping from most retailers these days, but I'm sure Pearl Jam could offer free shipping and just raise the prices to cover it. Either way you can't expect them to eat s/h costs.
