Currently at £300, love what he says though...could have easily put them on here in the lottery but thought he would make a quick buck.......

"As a true Pearl Jam fan it is with a massively heavy heart that I put these tickets up for auction...

"Unlike others on Ebay I did not set out to buy tickets only then to sell them on, or, profit from what is my favourite band.

"Therefore I am auctioning a pair of tickets and hope that a true Pearl Jam fan will enjoy what is certain to be an incredible night."
:D Rock on!!!! :D
Seen Pearl Jam 4 times in London, once in Manchester, as well as an Eddie show at Hammersmith.

Maybe he is not on the board or a 10C member. I challenged this with him/her. Got a whole sob story back..

"I have never bought or sold pearl jam tickets before and to be honest would not have sold them on here if it wasn't for the fact that I had already spent over £300 on travel to London and now due to the fact that a member of my family is ill I cannot go.....for your info I have been to every UK tour PJ have done since 1992 and on numerous occasions I've also had to pay ridiculous amounts of money to see them over £500 for the Astoria gig in 2006 alone."

He/she already spent £300 on travel to london? How does he travel? He never bought or sold PJ tix before? Hmmm.... he/she is saying the contrary when talking about Astoria....

I guess I could have sold my spares and given the same kind of rubbish story....

I guess not everyone shares the views we do on this board.

if people do not come jhere they may not share the community feel, and therefore I can understand people reselling for more than they paid, through simple economics. I dont agree with it, far from it, but selling a ticket for double cost, is no different to selling a poster for more than was paid for it.

Its about making a profit, and if you are not a huge fan of the band and this forum what else would you do?

Again I'm not condoning it - merely saying its understandable to the not so die hard fan.

But with this example above......been to every tour since 1992? and doesnt come here? that I find hard to believe.

But sure this ebay bullshit about not wanting to profit and doing it with a heavy heart and all that - its bullshit. I wrote to an load of sellers initially who were saying similar things 'they wanted a true fan to get the ticket for the niught of their lives' etc etc, to then reply, sorry cant help you, lets see how the auction goes.

    it fools no one

I agree. But if I'm going to sell tickets at more than 3x face value, why bother with sob story and this 'true fan' business. Just say it - I bought them, I want to make a killing on them. Simple. A guy I knew was selling 2x 02 tix way over face - he was honest about it. Got a couple of 'VIP' tix for free, selling his tix wanting to make enough profit to pay for his evening (drinking, eating, etc).

If a member of his family is ill, so be it, that's really unfortunate. But train tickets down, booked in advance will have been about £60ish tops, hotels can be cancelled usually. Maybe it's just me who has been infuriated with not being able to get a ticket for this gig despite living in London, and being asked to pay £200 at least for the privilage. I want to go to the gig, but there's no way I can pay the prices being 'touted' around, par the pun.

too right, its so transparent its untrue. No one is going to think, 'awh the poor chap, I'll buy his tickets because he wants a true pearl jam fan to enjopy his tickets'.

Like you say cut the shit, and just say I'm here for the money, because we all know its true.

There is a market force out there, and whether we agree or not people are going to pay silly money to see this band, he knows he's gonna get good money on it so who;s he trying to fool? or is it a matter of trying to convince himself what hes doing isnt wrong??

I wonder how many genuine fans have purchased tickets and how many have got them just to sell on. Bet it's an interesting number.
