What do the 9 images on Backspacer mean?

So what do these 9 images/drawings mean? Tom Tomorrow is known largely for his political cartoons and writings. He is an activist. Yet the 9 images I see have no political connotation or meaning at all. Some of the pictures are completely off the wall, and not Pearl Jam at all, or at least in the sense most of us know them. The guy in the 70's style suit, with the legs of what I assume are women in high heels lurking in the background. That image seems almost Queens of the Stone Age-esque.

    The train panel is clearly a nod to Stand by Me.

    It appears the guy in the magician panel and the robot panel is the same person.

    The 4th panel may hint at Seattle eventually being submerged underwater.

    8th panel is a pimp and his "hoes"

    I like the "Krang"- like brain in the center square.
    And so you see, I have come to doubt

    Nothing wrong with some good ol' QOTSA...it'd be a hell of a show if they opened for PJ, come to think of it.

    I think the exposed guy is for "See My Friend"...not necessarily "The Fixer"....we all just assume that's the cover for "The Fixer"....

    I don't know what the pictures mean, but i frackin' love them! I love the cover of this album-- definitely my fav since Yield. Maybe my favorite ever.

    Also, is it me, or does Stone appear to have lost some weight?

    The one does look like a pimp, but the legs he is siting between appear to be a replica of the famous Raquel Welch image from I think "Here to Eternity"? I only know it as one of the posters Andy Dufresne puts on the prison wall in the Shawshank Redemption. The question is who are the other two and is it some sort of commentary on pimping of actresses, etc...

    I think the middle picture in the bottom row reflects Charlie's Angels and Jackson...

    Also, the Backspacer turtle is swimming above Seattle..

    OK so I was completely wrong on the movie as its actually One Million Years BC that the image is from.
