stuck in Philly limbo...

this sucks! i rented my hotel room for Philly for the 31st just in case there is a show but the rate was DOUBLE for Sat. than it was for the weekdays...so if there is no show i will cancle that extra day....which means i have yet to book my train or plane tickets(don't know which i'm taking) because i don't know what days i'm staying...and of course an extra show means more money to be spent on tickets/posters/food/beer so i can't really budget yet either....now magnify this by the thousands of other fans on the same boat and i think it's safe to say we'd like a official word of some kind so we can have "closure"!!

I mean i'm not expecting 10c to throw us a fucking bone...noooooooooooooooooooo!...why the hell would the official fan club of the band do that? I mean Kat/Sea/Rubysdad/Santos....our cries fall upon their deaf ears..maybe the guy who sweeps up the office when they all go home..maybe he just happened to overhear something...or just happened to find some top secret document in the trash..or maybe he just mistakenly hacked the 10c mainframe and has the answers we need!!!(give the word..check will be in the mail) to you sir i say..please have pity on us poor tormented souls and hook us up with the 411..just a wink or nod will do fine...a part of my dies everyday we hear nothing!...you don't want that on your conscious, do ya dude?!

    I hear ya. Hypothetically speaking, if 10/31 does occur, why stay at the same hotel you are for 10/28-10/30? For the night of 10/31, just get a hotel/motel across the river in Jersey, say in Mt Laurel or Cherry Hill. You can get a nice suite in Mt Laurel for < $70 if you use AAA or are good at negotiating and its only 30 min from the Spectrum. Just an idea. There's no need to stay at the same hotel after all the Spectrum shows have concluded

    I'm thinking we will have to wait at least another week for an announcement. The announcement will probably be made at the same time as the OZ/NZ shows are announced.

    I would think news/dates would come before the mini tour starts with the Calgary show next weekend.

    there is a Days Inn in Gloucester City, NJ... right next to the Walt Whitman Bridge (which is next to the Sports Complex)... which is decent enough, close enough, and affordable. A cab ride to the Spectrum would be reasonable.



    As far as info goes, maybe there are issues being ironed out (an opening or co-act), the band hasnt confirmed the show themselves, or any other of a myriad of issues that could prevent the 10c from giving out any information or hints.
    What if Rubysdad popped into a thread and to ease tensions said that the band was leaning toward playing in the Spectrum on the 31st, and something fell through and they couldnt. That would be a bad situation.

    I would just book the 31st. There's strong rumors of a 10/31 PJ show, and if not you can take the $170 you would have spent and have a night out in the city.

    not sure why it's taking so long to announce this so called third (or 4th) show. I know Springsteen just announced another 2 shows at the spectrum (making it 4 shows) so why not Pearl Jam do it already.

    From The Spectrum's perspective, 10/31 could be the easiest show to sell, so I guess it makes sense to announce that one last -- but I agree it's weird that Springsteen leap-frogged PJ in terms of announcing added shows.

    Weren't the rumours also saying that the venue was supposed to announce this last week? Whatever happened to that? I have no interest in it personally, but I do find it odd how conflicting everything about this. Logic would say 3rd show, but logic would also say it'd be made official way before now.

    I would agree with those that don't think there will be a third Philadelphia show. I think the whole idea was conjured up from wishful thinking. I also hope there is a third show, but if I was a gambling man I would put my money on "no". That being said; I hope I'm dead wrong!!!! I'll see you on the 28th and the 30th!!!!!!!!

    Either its not happening or there's reasons why it hasn't been announced. Why would they have everything all lined up and planned out and NOT announce it? That wouldn't make sense. Either they're ironing out details or its not happening. One just has to be patient.

    the band doesnt want you to travel, book hotels and all that stuff

    they want the last show to be for the locals, if it in fact happens

    and really I dont think they were planning to come east at all, but the demand was clearly there, and well they do love philly
    one night philly, one night on letterman to promote the new record, friday night in philly
    then home for halloween-I really think thats how it will play out

    but for all you locals, or those that cant make the weekday shows, I hope Im wrong

    probably why the 10c is mum bout it and cause kat doesn't wanna deal with merging threads or locking them every 5 minutes or so. i like when the board goes ape shit.

    I am hoping against all odds that there is a 3rd show since I could only get tix to the 28th show and couldn't even get them through 10C. I am sitting in the nosebleed section of the Spectrum...but what more could one want? PJ AT THE SPECTRUM for the LAST TIME EVER! Grew up in Philly and the Spectrum definitely is/was one of the finest placest to hear/see a show, but the Flyers winning the Stanley Cups in the 70's definitely is a highlight I will never forget! PJ playing the last show at the Spectrum might definitely come close though (especially with a 3rd and final show added)............
    And he who forgets will be destined to remember. REMEMBER THE SPECTRUM!

    I would just like any type of head's up at this point. If the show(s) hasn't been confirmed yet, a little straight-forward news from the mods would be welcome (and considerate), rather than keeping us in the dark. Even if they're simply killing time, for some reason, any communication would be nice. What's wrong with a little bit of honesty?
