The thing is, they played "The Downward Spiral" in its entirety, start to finish. How the hell do you top that?
You have Peter Murphy coming looming out of the fog, hanging upside down from a chain from the ceiling like a bat, to sing Reptile, upside down 20 feet in the air the whole time, and also have the longest show in NIN history. It rivaled PJ shows in length, but was way more intense naturally, due to the nature of the music. (Went from ~ 8:50-11:25)

It's cool to think I was at the longest NIN show ever. But I think they will top it in the few remaining shows. Hell maybe even every night.
The show was absolutely insane. I haven't been in that intense of a crowd in a long time.
where to start with bauhaus? a few friends of mine have always been into them but i never followed... i need a new band so why not now... favorite album/song?

Peter Murphy hanging upside down from the ceiling for Reptile was spectacular and the length of the show so appreciated. I loved all 3 shows I attended, but Webster Hall remains my highest ranked. The level of energy of both the band and the crowd, the emotional element of TDS, it was such a privilege to be there.
I think I'm going through nin-withdrawal...

Others would be more knowlegeable than me regarding Bauhaus - I mainly started hearing them through NIN - I like of course Bela Lugosi's Dead (he did a part of this over another song A Strange Kind of Love) at T5 and I like She's in Parties. I got Go Away White a couple years ago when it came out, but you should probably start with the earlier material. Maybe others can chime in.
And... getting back to NIN - my (for real this time) last NIN show was at the Molson Toronto on Sunday at Virgin Fest that got moved from Burl's creek. Since we bought tickets before the venue change, and arrived in time, we could choose pit or 200 level, and we got there in time to get pit, so I got to have my last NIN show in the pit - stayed at the back away from the serious crush, but a really really good show, and such good visibility, and STILL closer than everyone in the seat sections. Eraser, The Ruiner, The Day the Whole World Went Away, Lights in the Sky, La Mer/The Frail/The Wretched, 1,000,000, Dead fucking Souls.... What was really cool, was they were starting a bit late - took the crew a while to clear off the Pet Shop Boys' set, and so at one point, all of a sudden lights on us are still on, lights on the stage are still on like when set up is happening and Trent just kind of saunters out, and starts - 'So impressed with all you do, tried so hard to be like you...' OMFG Somewhat Damaged . It was the first song of my first NIN show, and the first song of my last NIN show. Awesome Awesome Awesome. Trent said he was sick, but I wouldn't have guessed if he hadn't said anything.
