I am so looking forward to this full list to see where some of my favorite, great songs and then where my favorite random songs fall.

This should be awesome either way!

But OH MY, there's LAST KISS!?!?!? Happy now?!?!?
The sceaming tires, the busted glass, the painful scream that I heard last.... c'mon!

    From the blog:
    145. Last Kiss (Holiday Single, 1998, Lost Dogs, 2003) - One of the most famous songs in Pearl Jam's catalogue, its low spot on this list will not surprise the hardcore Ten Clubbers (I'm sure many of them wanted it in the #160 spot), but might shock the casual fans. It's a decent pop-rock cover of the J. Frank Wilson & The Cavaliers song (originally composed by Wayne Cochran), but it has been played to death, by both the radio and the band itself. The fact that so many people are familiar with PJ because of this song irks me and a whole legion of fellow fans, especially when we know how many superior covers the band has performed.

It just IRKS me whenever it's performed :D

THANK YOU! I thought I was the only one :( :D
  • I disagree with some things too, but I think the poster has also included general reaction to the songs rather than just their own opinion.

I think we are almost out of all the lost -lost dogs. So anything from now shouldnt be considered a complete fail. :D

This is a really fun read. Makes me wanna make my own list.

160 - 145 is made up mostly of Christmas singles, covers, Vitalogy half-tracks and Lost Dogs...

Therefore the real bottom track is "Evacuation"...

    Sounds about right to me!

Yep and I've just realised that, by tyring to find a worse track than Evacuation, I've made a tool of myself! I've edited my post now!

I'm also wondering how low Parachutes is going to be... I would have placed it second last without a second's hesitation...

Parachutes is the only PJ track EVER that I have only listened to once all the way through! I've tried so many times to like it but it's just not to be...

If you only listened to it in it's entirety once, how is that trying to like it? I'm just asking. Personally not one of my favorites, but I listen to the whole song every now and again.

He's starting at the bottom -- and it's not good for Vitalogy! (And the Whale Song!?!?!?)

Because every time I play that album I listen to Parachutes. I get about half way into that song and I have to skip it. I've listened to it dozens of times, I've just only made it all the way to the end once.

But the end is the best part...the song builds up...! 8-)

  • The writer certainly knows the band, I'll give him his due there. The list so far is pretty spot on. I was surprised that as a fan and a board reader he is not a fan of Bugs, and that Evacuation was so low, but the guy is doing a pretty good job IMO.

Please keep this thread going, or make it sticky, so we can keep up with it. I like the fact that even the songs he doesn't rate highly he doesn't rip into. He has something positive to say about most things and some interesting little bits of info.
we're all going to the same place...
