Since Blur had their mini reunion I've revisited them. goddam, I completely forgot how great they were. My older sister was a huge fan so I grew up listening to them a lot and I'm glad I did.
During the Britpop years they released album after album of great material. Brilliant pop songs with interesting lyrics, not to mention great videos.
they developed brilliantly as the years went on too. After the Great Escape they moved on from britpop and over the course of Blur, 13, and Think Tank they explored some really interesting ground. It was a shame when Graham left because it really spelled the end of them as a band.
Now their reunion is done and dusted. Just a couple of festival dates and they'regone again. I'm really pissed off I missed them, but I'm happy I was reminded to go back and listen to them again.
Blur Rock!

I have no love for them ...
...
...
... until they bring their reunion to the US, dammit!
Would love to see them again."You're one of the few Red Sox fans I don't mind." - Newch91
"I don't believe in damn curses. Wake up the damn Bambino and have me face him. Maybe I'll drill him in the ass." --- Pedro Martinez0 -
Anybody purchase any of the live CDs they just released from their UK reunion shows.0
-
I have much love for Blur ... was hoping they'd announce more shows as part of the reunion. Last time I saw them was Reading (2003??) and Damon fell off stage during Beetlebum  ... got straight back up though ... and we got Phil Daniels for Parklife which had the whole field jumping
... unfortunately show was without Graham so in one of my favourite songs (Tender) the crowd sang his parts :(
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?0 -

Great band!
Their best album is probably Parklife, it might be the best Brit-pop era record. I also love their more experimental material, like Blur, 13, and Think Tank. Modern Life Is Rubbish and The Great Escape are both very underrated by the general public, and even Leisure, which is their weakest effort, has some pretty good material on it.0 -
blur were awesome, one of the bands i most wish i could've seen. i'm sitting right the fuck next to a giant parklife poster as i type this...0
